What do you think of the new law?
I agree with the law
I disagree with the law
Bloody Hell!

I saw that on Virgin Gaming's website the other day. I think it's a polite thing to do but am a little concerned about what that means for affiliate sites. I suppose we need to put a warning on our sites that cookies will be used. Does it only apply to .uk domains?
I think that this is a huge boon to non-UK based websites, that market to the UK.
The vast majority of users HATE unwanted pop-ups... especially when they have to take an action to get rid of the pop-up.
Why would a user want to have to click past pop-ups on one site when the same user can go to a different site(not UK based) get the same info or product and not have to deal with clicking past pop-ups?

I thought 'implied consent', added just before this went live, meant the warning was unnecessary?
It seems to be necessary.
So far 2 votes for yes and none for no.
This is the article I read at the time. Am I wrong?

No. You are right. This is a non-thread. The problem doesn't exist. Even if the law did exist it is not even 'new'. The only reason you see cookie warnings on various sites is because these sites prepared for it in advance before the 'law' was effectively binned in the UK at the last minute.
PS: It is not a vote, it's a fact!

I've been noticing them a lot more often lately.
I agree with the other posts in this thread that pop ups can get annoying, if they aren't required by law I wish less sites would use the cookie warnings. It only takes a few seconds to click them away, but when you are checking out sites every day it adds up.
