Question What messaging platforms do you currently use, or expect to use in the near future?

On February 28th Microsoft announced it is retiring Skype in the following article:

The next chapter: Moving from Skype to Microsoft Teams

There is a discussion thread about the shutdown in the GPWA forums here: Skype Shuttung Down - May

The official shutdown will occur on May 5, just two months from now. Of course, Microsoft hopes everyone will migrate from Skype to Teams, but even they know many users will migrate to different platforms. In fact, use of Skype has declined over time with the wide variety of other messaging platforms.

So, for today's poll, I ask what messaging platforms you currently use, or expect to use in the near future? A timely question given the disappearance of Skype in the near future.

I invite everyone to share their view about the different messaging platforms, and how important each of them are to you in communicating with others within the iGaming industry.

And, for those of you currently using Skype, your comments about your migration plans in the face of the imminent shutdown of Skype are appreciated.

I know, for me, one of the most immediate changes I will need to make is to stop publishing Skype addressed for staff members and to decide what other types of contact addresses will be provided in their place.

I currently use Skype for work and WhatsApp for everything else, that will clearly need to change.

I'll keep using skype until it has gone and I will migrate to whatever platform my AM's move to. The real loss for me with skype is a cheap landline phone number, teams lets you have a number too but it is like 5x as expensive.

Slack for in-team communications, Discord and Telegram for talking to clients / friends.

So far, I’ve been using Skype and Slack for work and WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord for personal communication (though I occasionally handle work chats on those as well). With Skype shutting down, I believe most of my work-related conversations will move over to Telegram, and I also suspect Discord might become more popular, but time will tell.

To be honest, as long as I don’t have to download new apps, I can adapt to whatever platform people prefer

Mostly Skype and Telegram. And now since Skype is shutting down. Will surely switch fully to Telegram.

Didn't like Skype from the beginning. Too buggy & slow.

Since i am in between Curacao and Florida I tend to use Whatsapp a lot for personal use, I use Facebook Messenger for keeping up with the family in Texas, and I have Telegram, but I really do not use it much, but that will change in the near future.

I’ve been using WhatsApp for PC for the past week or so and it’s been a fairly seamless transition, can’t see myself using Teams now when Skype finally ends.

I'm currently using Skype, but I intend to move onto Microsoft Teams as the alternative option. My younger brother is using the platform at the moment and he doesn't have any issues with it.

Currently use skype for professional messaging. Looks like Telegram and Teams will be needed. Already get a lot of spam on Telepgram. For personal messaging I use and like WhatsApp.
