Question What percent of the pages in your sitemaps are indexed by Google?

Nearly a decade ago I asked how many folks used sitemaps. You can see the poll here:

    Do you use sitemaps?

Nearly 90% of webmasters said they used sitemaps on as least some of their sites, and the majority of those who didn't said they planned to in the future.

For this week's poll I ask how successful you are in terms of having those pages actually indexed by Google.

Google search console has a section covering crawl, and in that section they provide sitemap information. The number of pages submitted by virtue of being listed in the sitemap is shown, in addition to the number of those pages that are currently indexed. You just have to calculate the ratio to determine the percent that are indexed.

If you have several sites, vote in the poll using the total across all your sites, or a few top sites if you have a lot of sites. And you are welcome to post the specific number or ratios for different sites if you like. Be sure to share any observations you have, particularly if you have opinions about why some sites have better indexing ratios than others.

it's about 90% as i have a lot of deindex no follow pages too, categories, aff links etc which googlebot does a good job of ignoring, but the pages i want to be indexed are all pretty much there.

Got 90% of our pages indexed on our casino site, as its mostly fresh handwritten good quality content. The only pages Google won't index are those fed via API across 70 or so casinos using the same software that we do. Google doesn't like the fact that most of those pages content is duplicate content, so doesn't bother indexing it

We use Yoast SEO plugin for our WP site. I used their native sitemap tools for our pages and posts. About 80% of our site is indexed. The sitemap helped me find pages that were blank, that were included. now that those have been removed, it will hopefully go higher.

    61%, rounded up.
I have to confess, I hadn't thought about Sitemaps for a while, in fact since I moved to SSL.
This post prodded me into action again. I've now refreshed sitemaps for a;; my sites (not just gambling-related)

I'm up around 93%, though some pages like the contact, search form etc., etc, are set to no index, so too are tags and categories, which help to reduce dup content. So in the BIG picture I'm happy with how my sitemaps perform

For me it's between 91% to 100%, for my main sites.
