Question What percent of your pages have a good page experience on mobile?

Just over a week ago, on April 19th, Google made the following post in their Search Central Blog:

More time, tools, and details on the page experience update

Earlier Google had indicated the page experience update was going to take place in May. But that has been pushed back and Google now says the page experience update will be rolled out gradually beginning in mid-June, and that the full roll-out will not happen until the end of August.

Google also announced a new page experience report that is now available within Google Search Console.

Link to open the new page experience report: search.google.com/search-console/page-experience.

So, the subject of this week's poll is how your main site ranks in the new report.

The new report is currently limited to covering mobile friendly pages. As an example, the GPWA website currently ranks fairly well on web core vitals for a desktop (97.8% good pages, 2,2% needs improvement pages and 0% poor pages). But, on the mobile front, the GPWA website does not do as well, to put it mildly (0% good, 52.1% needs improvement and 47.9% bad). So, in the case of the GPWA website, the Page Experience (on mobile) report prominently states: "Your site has no URLs with a good page experience." Along with an indication that there are 0% Good URL's on the site.

Besides voting in the poll to indicate the % of Good URL's Google reports for your site's page experience on mobile, please share your thoughts more generally in a post. Have you already worked on improving your page experience? Do you plan to work more? Are you glad the page experience update is being postponed?

Speaking for myself, we are putting in a lot of effort to improve technical aspects of many of our sites. At the moment the improvements are centered around auditing and addressing dead links, the last few instances of sites that are not using https and consistently using HSTS preload for all of our sites. We have also begun the process of auditing sites for core web vitals related issues, and expect to spend a lot more time on that beginning next month. So, I'm personally glad the timing of Google's page experience update is now better aligned with our current development schedule.

Have you already worked on improving your page experience? yes, at least a solid month out of the last 4, maybe heading towards 2 months, lost track and best I've managed is in the high ambers (and anyone who has a lot to do will know how much of a loss that time is...and how painful it is given it's all for someone on a mountain in Nepal using two empty coke cans and a piece of string as their phone)

Do you plan to work more? Sadly the only way out for me is to rebuild the site. If I'd known in Jan what I know now, would just have spent the 6 weeks it would take to do it and been done with it. Now it's a tough call. Probably will take chances that high 80s will be good enough for long enough to work something else out.

Are you glad the page experience update is being postponed? yep...although doubt the negative impacts (for 'bad' pages) would be immediate anyway, more likely a gradual drop over time. But with Google, who knows.

I also doubt whether anything will be consistent....pages might drop and others similar might stay or rise...because of the relativity factor (and other factors)

I'm in the green for desktop, and in the orange for mobile.
Despite the fact that it loads superfast for my mobile.

I'd be happy to get more desktop / laptop users and less mobile users ...
It seems that someone who has shelled out for a REAL computer has more cash to splash on a bet ...

    TRUTH!

Although there are sub-$300 laptops now and $1,000+ phones!

Nonetheless, I miss the days when 80% of our traffic was desktop and we did not have to optimize a damned thing for mobile users.

Are your realtime tests based on a mobile or desktop device? I ask because at the present time the Google Search Console report only provides data from a mobile device perspective.

I have 80% of visitors with a mobile phone, so I try to make a mobile version without errors to meet all the requirements.
