    Question What sort of hosting arrangements do you use for your websites in 2012?

    Earlier this week I received a phone call from a service bureau firm that provides cloud computing services. While not a service I was interested in right now, it did get me wondering about web hosting arrangements used by our members.

    I know that GPWA webmasters use a wide variety of arrangements for hosting their websites. Some own dedicated servers they manage themselves, some rent virtual or physical servers from others. Some pay third parties to host individual websites. And it would not surprise me if some you cloud-based services for hosting their sites.

    So, for this week's question poll question I thought I would ask about hosting services used by GPWA members. The poll is multiple choice, so select as many options as apply to you. And please share with us how you view the various options work for you and any plans you have for looking at new or different options in the future.

    I'm far too paranoid to have all of my sites on the same server, especially after having one of my servers have a weeks worth of downtime. So I have:

    * One VPS
    * Cloud hosting X 2 (different hosts)
    * A bunch of shared hosting accounts spread between a number of hosting providers
    onlinegamblingwebsites.com - Formally known as goodbonusguide.

    Gambling Domains: Small clear out of some of the domains we've been hoarding on Dan - see the list here. Prices negotiable, and willing to swap for decent links.

    I switched my web hosting and email to GoDaddy from Yahoo last year. No issues at GoDaddy; would do it again, especially considering the savings of about 75%.

    for some of my websites ( the primary ones ) I use a dedicated servers . It is expensive but worth the quiet sleep at night

    and I use hostgator servers , which have an amazing costumer service . Sometimes I chat with them for hours ... very helpful .

    My main sites are on Fasthosts.

    I have some minor sites on 1&1.co.uk - but their "web builder" software is the biggest heap of CRAP you have ever seen!
    They are currently heavily advertising their services on UK TV - how they can promote such garbage to people is a mystery to me.

    One of my websites is on a dedicated server, and the others are on shared servers. I'm planning on moving all of my websites to dedicated servers when they start ranking better

    we have several dedicated servers, a couple virtual servers and a number of shared hosting accounts in the US, UK and Canada. Years ago (until about 2002) i had my own rack, a couple t1's and a lot of expenses and grief.

    Now there are fewer issues, those issues create less grief, but occasionally we've had hosting companies "go bad" and have to switch. I don't ever want to own/touch/see my webservers again! I just want the sites up and running.
