Question What time of day are you most focused?

The majority of affiliates work from home on flexible schedules. That gives most of us the ability to schedule our workday and the different activities around our work based on the level of concentration required and when we find we are best able to focus. For example, maybe you are a morning person or maybe you are a night person.

I've made this a multiple-choice poll, so request you choose the one or two or three time periods during which you view you are most focused.

For this week's poll, I ask if there are specific times of day you are able to focus better. Besides voting in the poll, I invite you to comment on the work you do, and what requires greater and and what requires lesser degrees of concentration.

I've always been a night owl and by choice I would work afternoons into late evenings but having kids put pay to that. I often do admin stuff earlier in the morning and deal with anything requiring more focus after my third cup of coffee.

I'm definitely most productive in the morning and generally the first part of the day, between 7 AM and 1 PM.

Early morning without a doubt. Usually 9am to 12am after taking the kid to kindergarten, having breakfast and a coffee. Back in the day, I would start working around 7am.

Early morning for me too, I normally start work at 6am and get most of the productive work done by lunchtime. That also builds flexibility in to exercise either at lunchtime or later in the afternoon and not feel that it's intruding on work time.

I usually start late morning after taking our kid to school. Then until 2p.m. goes good. Afterwards I notice I am being less concentrated.

Late mornings for me. I used to think I was a night owl until I found out I had a problem with my circadian rhythm and after that everything changed for the better.

I usually feel that I really do have a lot of strong energy in the early afternoons, immediately before having lunch too. Once I have lunch, I'll start to feel like I'm tired and I won't be able to do anything anymore.

Definitely mornings. In the mornings, I am able to get through all e-mails, Skype, etc., and then head down for other tasks. Weekends are also good for tasks that need to be completed with few interruptions.

Night owl, turned early riser because of the kids.

I achieve more in the same time frame the earlier I rise. I try to squeeze as many tasks as I can before noon, and then after noon I do the more relaxed ones.

Because, leaving the difficult stuff for the afternoon simply won't work. Like Sun Tzu said, soldier's spirit is keenest in the morning, in the afternoon he just wants to go back to camp. That's just how us humans are.

One exception would be late night dev work on your website. That's awesome. And it's done better in the evenings and nights. But I no longer have the luxury.

When I start in the middle of the night, I find I can concentrate best at around 6am.When an idea comes to me, I get all the more engrossed. When I get stuck, it takes me a while to regain my focus.

I find that I am most focused in the morning. This time allows me to work on content most efficiently, plan my tasks for the day, and analyze data without distractions. The morning hours are when I feel most productive and ready to tackle complex challenges.
