Question What were the worst three months of the year for you in the past 12 months?

As noted in last week's poll, for many businesses there are seasonal fluctuations. Good months and bad months. For last week's poll I asked folks what the best months were for them in the past year in this thread: What were the best three months of the year for you in the past 12 months?

For this week's poll, I thought I would do the reverse. So look over the revenue you earned each month in the past year, and cast your vote in favor of the three months in which you had the smallest affiliate revenue. If possible, look at the months in which you actually earned the least revenue (even if it was paid later).

And be sure to share your view of why you believe those months were the worst for you. Do you think there were good reasons, or do you think the worst months were just random luck.

I would certainly have to say February, March and April of last year especially, that seemed to be the weakest months for me.

The month that is furthest from today is the worst. I am on a mission to improve my traffic 1% a day.

Getting killed last 3 months including June right now. I put in a lot of work and it's just not improving... but I've seen this before. I would not be surprised if summer in the northern hemisphere impacts people wanting to play online gambling games significantly. People in the US travel to Vegas and Atlantic City and enjoy real casinos and the great outdoors instead of staying home. This trend likely dwindles in the late summer when it's too darn hot to go outside.

I voted last 3 months, March to May 2018. My revenue dropped threefold. Why? The... guilt is shared, that's all I feel I want to share now.

Edit: the post was longer, I edited to reveal less info...

For me, an answer to the question in this thread is all about work ethic. The months I did well, were always 'cause I worked more hours on doing the things that gave my sites more visitors, the months before. It is all about the hours put into your work. It has little to do with anything else, like how intelligent you are, your priorities, how focused and concentrated in the present you are, or even your good relationships. It is all about work ethic of the webmaster and marketer. That is it. That is of course assuming you are organized, socialize well, and work on the same priorities of others in this niche.

Working hard and inteligently on the projects is fundamental factor for good results, but there are many things that directly and strongly affect them. For example ad blocking extansions that can eliminate or make cookies useless, search engines, that already accept gambling ads, affiliate programs that can create issues, etc.

Absolutely agree with @vardan, you could have exceptional work ethic, you could put in hundreds of hours, but all these must luckily (knowingly?) mix with the right company, with a good affiliate program, with (my pet peeve right now) a responsive attentive affiliate manager... Hard work is nothing without these other things factored in.

June so far is the worst for the year, maybe the World Cup is effecting casino players?

I think you're right, ocreditor. I think that it is also because of the World Cup. It has really been affecting my casino players in the same way.

The worst three months are always the new 3 months. Because the bad news is just piling up. It means problems for future.

Revenue so far is stable. June was quite good because WC and Germany.

My revenues are at peak and they do not grow like it were year after year for years. For sure mostly because I can not promote bet365 anymore. Also because I do not care that much anymore and I invest money and energy elsewhere. Being a gambling affiliate now is depressing.

    Voted for March-April-May 2018.

Can't help but notice the high number of votes on those spring months.

Not sure about the reasons behind, our performance doesn't explain it. Perhaps GDPR or UK compliance changes start to sneak in somehow?

It is acceptable to invest your money and energy in a different sector. You are wise. Now maybe your work energy will go up. You might be set to appreciate work in any non-gambling sector, more than most other people in your new niche, 'cause you embraced the suck in the gambling industry. Is this accurate?

Generally, my May-July is usually bad, its when the online industries I'm focused on go dry, the dry spell can be so bad it often spreads to Aug. So dipping into reserves is always a must!
Working towards diversifying my sources to avoid this three-straight-months-of-madness annually
