Default What would you do after being contacted by a brand with bad reviews everywhere

So I was contacted recently by a company and asked to set up an affiliate account with them and we talked and they mentioned some of their casinos and when I looked into their main brand, it seems to have absolutely HORRIBLE reviews everywhere I saw. I won't name them but oretty much everything I saw said they used to be very good but the CEO left and the remaining people took over the casino has gotten terrible and has started using "rogue operators" (whatever that means).

Would it be rude to tell them you don't want to work with them because you don't trust them or should I just ignore them?

What do you have to lose from working with them? Even with bad reviews there will still be people that sign up. I worked at a major UK firm that had TERRIBLE reviews and still has some bad ones but has turned things around in the last 3 years. Now a household name even with all the bad reviews out there.

Well some of the bad stories were about them stiffing affiliates. I would just be afraid that if they start stiffing players it can show very poorly on your site. Does that ever happen?

That's a slightly different kettle of fish. It wouldn't bother me until I got stiffed. The second I did I'd drop them.

    Simple,ignore it

Some affiliates are not smart enough for this market. Promoting rogue brands and getting scammed sooner or later is maybe not what u want

    Regards

There are a lot of places you can go with no bad comments...

I worked for years with some big brands that had bad comments, dricing lots of traffic, now im on tiny % with them and they are in my rogue section. Lots of money lost.

Sending traffic to KNOWN rogue operators has bad consequences often.

#1 They could be treating players badly (which is bad)
#2 You would be sending traffic sending them to a rogue outfit that may not pay for the traffic, thus completely wasting the traffic where sending them to more honorable operators could pay you many times over for that traffic.

Think of it this way ...

Would you LEND a friend money who you KNOW has never REPAID any loans and doesnt pay any creditors ??

Of course not .. so why would you risk your money the same way ??

best thing is start off on a good CPA, send them some test players, get paid, then make your mind up. No affiliate networks are trustworthy in this industry IMO, so just cash in while you can. If you don't believe just search other networks and read terms almost every one has complaints with terms that dont make sense.

Tell them they have bad reviews
See how they react, and if you want to give them a chance, please make a good agreement on terms and only sent them a small amount of traffic.
Make sure you get paid first before you spoil your traffic on them.

    It depends.

I usually give feedback to brands why I am not going to work with them of what are my points of worry. Some brands keep on spamming, then I do not bother to reply.

I also do not work with brands that are, although I have contact forms on every website, spamming comments.

He actually saw I made this post on here and knew it was about him and has messaged me the last 2 days asking if he can explain himself and told me I shouldn't be so quick to judge based on what I read on the internet

Why not ask him to explain the bad reviews on this thread in public...

    Surely nothing to hide

That's the usual excuse. Everybody is against them, the bad reviews are of some competitors, etc.

Well, it can happen once of course that some frustrated player or affiliate leaves a bad review, but dozens... If it walks, smells and quacks like a duck...

Cheating affiliates in an industry where near 100% business is dependent upon them is plain stupid; the bad reviews from affiliates would turn off most.

    I'd say name and shame.
