I must admit that I am at a loss to understand why a substantial part of the US citizens is still very much convinced that their current government is doing good to the whole of the world.
at the risk of ....well I wouldn't call it offending others.... but at the risk of being off-topic.... i"d like ot answer this one.

    simple propeganda N:

I got in an arguement with my brother the other day over GW ... He's all for the current agenda .... and his answer is ..... well you know I listen to talk radio all day .... what do you do?

thankfully... I make up my own mind.....

almost anything can be sold with the right twist and the current US regime is definitely given more than its turn at making themselves sound right.
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

Right now I am a bit under the weather - my son's cold has worked itself to me. During these times, I have a hard time doing actual work on my website - the time is used for planning and administrative things that dont require much brainpower. I also find I get rather introspective.

Being an affiliate is hard work. I almost resent some affiliates who now take their past struggles for granted. It's great the some affiliates can automate some blog posts and take off for a month or two at a time. There is a definite misperception about what is needed for affiliate success.

We have so many challenges. Just in the past few weeks I've struggled making important decisions about my business... Here are 10 things most affiliates like us consider at least on an annual basis, some almost daily. For me, it takes mastery of all 10 to have a successful and streamlined business.

    1. Hosting... Where to host... How much to spend... What kind of hosting/resources are needed. Do I have the skill to manage a dedicated (or virtually dedicated) server? Uptime? Backups?

    2. What affiliate programs to work with... There are so many things to balance - from their T&C, payout percentages and methods, support, reputation of the program and their casinos.

    3. How to handle accounting... How to keep books is not easy. There is money coming in from all kinds of places. Finding out who owes what is not as simple as checking invoices as no physical goods were exchanged. Chasing payments... Legitimate business expenses...

    4. Legal considerations... Corporation setup... Keeping butt clean with taxing authorities

    5. On #5 and just starting to touch on the actual website. What's my niche? Generating content... organizing content... site layout/usability/marketing.

    6. More content... Web 2.0 features? XML? RSS? Etc...

    7. Making sure website is up to date (and it's not like the aff programs all do the best job of keeping us informed)

    8. SEO... keywords, PR, Links, etc... And integration onto your website.

    9. Marketing. Traffic... where to get it!? (no further explanation needed). And how to convert that traffic.

    10. Sticking to the business plan and not getting sidetracked. Keeping deadlines. Dotting i and crossing t's. Finding time to get it all done, but allowing for life to happen too.

I posted this here because just understanding these factors is an accomplishment for me... I've got a good start on implementing these, but it is constant tweaking.

I guess my biggest accomplishment is maintaining top 3 positions in google for the last four years.for my keywords.....also segmenting the market and getting in quick 5 years ago before everyone else jumped on the bandwagon!

Man I can totally identify with you on that one, Mate!

However, I decided to take the plunge after too many years of using shared hosting because of the fear I held to the unknown.

I'm happy to say that after 5 weeks I got a handle on things and I've not looked back since.

Currently Running a VPS (managed) which totally kicks. Granted it's in Australia and I'm not hosting gambling sites, but, it sure beats using a shared host. I've got a new site opening soon, so I'm look at grabbing a VPS in USA (which is going cost me about 1/4 of what I'm paying here in OZ)...

My advice is go for it Matt

    Cheers

    Thanks Dave...

Today, I plunked down $1600 for a year-long contract on a pretty nice VPS box based in Delaware. http://www.hostmysite.com/vps/windows/asp/

I've never run my own web server (VPS acts like dedicated, but there is more than one user on the box). I am running into some challenges just doing simple stuff... but learning. Rick's been nice enough to offer help when I get stuck - and supposedly HMS offers excellent tech support.

I'm a fairly technical guy - but honestly I've avoided hosting technicalities until now.

    Hi Matt,

Believe me once you get the hang of things it will be a walk in the park my friend.

In all sincerity using the WHM is pretty easy once you let go of the fear factor.

What I did was simply click on every link on the side panel and checked it out. If I didn't add stuff, alter stuff I knew I'd be ok.

As you said there is some good resources for WHM as well as Virtuozzo Power Panel (if that's what your using too).

I pay an extra $5 a month for fantastico but Cpanel is stock so that's a BIG plus for me. Some place uses Plesk (which I really don't like).

Rick really knows his stuff and is a great asset to have, good on ya Rick

    This is who I'm with:
http://www.netlogistics.com.au/hosting/momentum.php (package 2) though compared to USA VPS packages it is expensive as I don't get the data transfer. Still its super fast.

    Cheers
