Question What is your favorite web browser in 2024?

I asked this question back in 2017, but that was a long time ago. Certainly long enough ago for browser preferences to have changed.

I'll be curious how closely the responses match browser session use for GPWA visitors. Google Analytics shows the following statistics for GPWA.org:

    64.39% Chrome (up from 58.8% in 2017)
    12.64% Firefox (down from 14.2% in 2017)
    9.48% Opera (up from 2.1% in 2017)
    9.46% Safari (down from 14.1% in 2017)
    2.21% Edge (up from 1.4% in 2017)
0.72% Samsung Internet (not separately listed in 2017)
0.43% Internet Explorer (down from 7.4% in 2017)
    0.63% Others (down from 2% in 2017)

Be sure to share why you prefer one browser to another. And, more importantly, please share if there are any plugins that you recommend or that you find helpful. Maybe some of us will learn about new plugins that would be helpful for us to use based your recommendations.

Great question and really interesting to see the stats comparison from 2017. I use Chrome and not a fan of any others. I do remember using Firefox many years ago and can see why that would be second but not a fan of Edge and don't think I've ever tried Opera.

Chrome on laptop and safari on mobile for me, no real reason to change so I'll be interested if there are any benefits of others from the comments on here.

I use Chrome for no specific reason. Nonetheless, if it doesn't do anything to make me go to a different browser - I guess it does its job well.

I also use Brave, it has plenty of benefits compared to Chrome, and it looks similar to Chrome, which is handy for those who've used to Chrome. There is even an inbuilt crypto wallet if needed, and it's not a browser extension. Besides Brave i use the Incognition browser (anti-detect) when accessing my different Google profiles. Then i use a few extensions like ColorZilla, OpenDesignerTools, WebDeveloper, GoFullPage, and bookmarklets that i invented and then created together with some of my AI friends...

Google Chrome is my main web browser. I've always found it easy to use and it's user friendly. Agree with wonderpunter, that Firefox lost its crown a long time ago.

I use Chrome for work, there're many useful extension. Tho, I use Brave for my personal matters, I believe it's safer and more convenient if you invest in crypto.

Brave is my favorite browser because of its strong focus on privacy. I'm tired of being a product of big corporation and try to share as little data as possible. Plus it is a chromium based browser so can use same plugins and got the inspect tool working the same way as with Chrome.

It used to be Firefox but since they messed with Google Sheets it is now Chrome. Wish Firefox would sort out the issues, causing too many problems.

I use Chrome, not because I really like it, but because of good stability and big amount of extensions.
Literally this beast eats all of your RAM xD , but I have no alternatives.

I'd like to use Safari, as I am a Mac user, and it looks faster, smoother and consumes less energy. But this s**t they did with extensions is killing me.
I just cant use it for my work or for crypto, as I don't have the extensions. It sucks.

I mainly use Brave - just can't deal with Firefox anymore, some sites and web apps don't work properly in it for some reason.

Chrome has robust security features that help protect against malware and phishing attacks.

I prefer using Chrome due to its straightforward user interface and user-friendly experience. It is aesthetically pleasing and maintains a clean design.
