What's up, GPWA? Just out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on when to start buying backlinks for a new site?
I just launched a new site a few weeks ago, and wondering what you guys think.
Thanks in advance!

For a new site, it's best to initially focus on building organic growth through high-quality content and natural backlinks. The main thing is not to start doing this too early, otherwise google will think they are not natural and penalise them. After 3-6 months of consistent content creation and outreach, you can start thinking about backlinks.

I would say it is best to hold off on buying backlinks until the site has some basics covered (quality content, working links, some organic traffic, and indexed pages). That way, you make sure you are on the right track, your visitors have a reason to keep coming to your website, and your site looks legit to Google.
Having that, I would buy backlinks progressively while continuously testing to ensure I'm spending my money wisely and not throwing it away in exchange for something that gives no return.

Sometimes no link building is needed to rank a website. Proper on page strategy and good content is enough for ranking your website. If you want to build backlinks start slowly. The first few days only 1 backlinks per day. Then after 1/2 weeks make 5 /7 backlinks. After a month create 10-15 high quality backlinks per day. This will work like a snow ball effect.
It all depends on the competition on the SERPs. But you should never start to build links to an unfinished site. As NoDepositCasinos siad, cover all the basics, let the site get indexed, and then in my case you could go with some nice launch links.
Remember that the first links that you point to your site is important because it sets the "standard" for Google.
What nonsense is this? First, its against Google policy that you point a link to your site. Secondly hundrets of bots will crawl your site before you even setup your GSC and point links from funny sources to your site. Thats the standard then?Remember that the first links that you point to your site is important because it sets the "standard" for Google.
And actually it doesn't play any role what time you start building links, but you have to do it consistently. Thats all.

Personally, I think it's risky to start promoting a new website with paid links right away. It's better to focus on organic growth at first — get the site listed in local directories and listings, and casually mention it on forums and social media. Once it starts picking up some natural backlinks, then it's safer to bring in paid ones. I know guys who wait a whole year before buying links, but I usually start a bit earlier
I would save your money, I have a feeling on the next big update links will be even less valuable than they are now, the only links worth getting are ones which would cost you a ton of money. focus on building a good non generic site.

You can always buy backlinks, no matter how old your site is. But keep in mind that buying good backlinks requires a considerable budget.
I suggest you focus on building backlinks yourself, and when you see an increase in traffic to your site and maybe even some income, then you can invest the money you make in buying backlinks.

I think buying links can be started after 1-2 months, but very slow, and make a push when so sort of SEO traffic is in place, in order to fix and improve the organic results

It all depends on what kind of risks you are willing to take. If you'r looking for a longevity for your website, then I would say wait until 2-3 months before purchasing links. Start slow and build it up with good amount of social media signals so Google see the purchased backlinks as a natural results of the visibility of your site.
From our experience, it’s best to take it slow in the beginning. Focus on building quality content first, get your pages indexed, and do some light stuff like social signals or citations just to build that initial trust with Google.
With some of our sites, we started off super chill — like 2-3 backlinks per month for the first few months, mostly niche edits or guest posts. Then after 3-4 months, once we had some organic traffic and a solid content base, we gradually ramped it up to 4-5 links per month. Around month 6, we started seeing some nice movement in rankings and even some revenue coming in.
The key is to always keep things looking natural. Before ramping up, we check how competitive the niche is — how many links the top-ranking sites are getting, what kind of anchors they’re using, etc. That helps guide how aggressive (or not) we need to be.
So yeah, slow and steady works way better than blasting links too early.
Hope that helps!
exactly this, if you want long term value = wait at least 6 months before you start doing anything, if you want to make a quick buck, you can go all in right away expecting to get burnt after some week (or months in a best-case scenario).
The first thing you should do is to create social backlinks (Facebook page, Instagram, Youtube, etc). These links are very natural first links to a website. After the new website has been indexed, I would suggest adding citation links. Buy a citation package from some SEO agency. It usually costs less than $100.
Then I would slowly start drip feeding guest post links after roughly 1 month. Add 1 link per week in the beginning.
Hey there,
If I was to launch a new site here is what I would do in the first 3 months :
Month 1:
Set up social profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
List the site on directories (niche-specific but also general: Crunchbase, AboutUs, etc.)
Engage in relevant forums/Reddit/communities (use your link when possible)
At the same time, craft 3-5 pieces of highly valuable content
Month 2:
Star outreach to promote your valuable content, aim for 50 guest posts or resource mentions
Engage on social media as well
Month 3:
Hopefully you'll have some reply to your outreach campaign
Now, start diversifying your link building tactics
Find good link marketplaces
Launch a mini digital PR campaign
Negotiate content partnerships...
I also agree with the first comment, let your site indexed first. Build links with low pace and high authority sites. After a while you can get some sitewide links or footer/homepage links. not stuffing the keywords.
Its change in you geo target of course, each market need different approach since google algorithm is different in every country. For example the US google serp and the Vietnamese google serp are looking for different optimizations.
