Default Where do you guys advertise?

Just a question... and this may be a dumb one, but where do you guys actually advertise? I thought about a Google Ad campaign but it seems google will not accept casino-related sites (though I see some have gotten around this). I don't mind putting some advertising money into my site if it means I'll get some quality traffic... I just don't know where to start. Any suggestions?

That is the million dollar question. You almost have more luck asking where not to advertise.

Traffic is highly competitive, and if you find a good source, most really can't afford to share their traffic secrets for fear of everyone jumping on the same source.

    As far as where?

Organic search engine traffic is still the best and most sought after. I believe that any other advertising should be used to not only bring customers, but to enhance any search engine rank you may achieve. i.e. Don't use advertising methods that can get you banned from the search engines.

    That said:
I think most of us use PPC, banner ads, newsletters, blogs, email lists and all the free exchanges you have the time to set up.

And: LINK EXCHANGE LINK EXCHANGE LINK EXCHANGE

A combination of all of the above is ideal. Never put all your traffic eggs in one basket. Sometimes the baskets break.

    Good Luck!

    Thanks for the reply.

The link exchange is something I've been working on, but I've been getting a little frustrated by it. What I've come across is many webmasters either don't respond (maybe due to the site not being actively updated) or they have me put up their link and then never reciprocate my link! I've had the later happen several times. I usually have the link up for about 2 weeks and send follow-up emails... and nothing! So, I end up taking them down. If I had more time I would be hitting this sucka a lot harder... but time is limited right now. I am still scratching my head trying to figure out how some sites have 10k - 200k backlinks! There is NO WAY they are getting all those links through link exchanges. I thought about even building my own directory / link exchange site just so I can add my own sites and try to increase page rank. Any suggestions on the backlinking?

Nina is right, and yes exchanging links is a very frustrating and time consuming thing that just has to be done.

One thing you may find that works against you is that you have not had any google pr assigned to your site yet. Some webmasters will only exchange with sites that have pr. (I do not totally agree with this method...and in fact I have already exchanged with you on one site)

I have just visited your site again, and one thing I noticed was that your home page took forever to load. You may want to look at your images and be sure they are optimized....

    Don't give up.

Thanks... and you're completely correct on the page loading. In fact, it's on my agenda of many things to do at the end of this month. I know I'm hurting myself waiting, but I'm trying to juggle a few things at one time. I think I can have the page load at least 4x faster than it currently does. Oh, and my site finally does have PR. IT's showing as PR2 through many tools (though some it shows zero). It's weird cause when I hit the website testing from a local app it shows PR2 in the google toolbar. If I hit the page directly it shows PR0 though sub pages show PR1. Weird!
