Default Who wants a load of new players?

    Greetings all

Whilst on my hiatus from the industry and deciding what to do next, I am helping a friend of mine on his sites etc.

Over the years he has generated an email list of over 1 million gaming people but has never monetised it, so as its the beginning of the footie season this weekend, I have convinced him to get some gaming merchants on board and send out some emails.

Now, the volume is up to you, but the important thing is that each person on the list will only be getting one email.

So, if you want to promote your sports offers for this weekend, add me to MSN (I know I have a lot of you on MSN already, but if I dont then go mad and add me in). Then we can talk rates. I am happy to work in the way you feel most comfortable, and if we can do a deal then we will do it.

You may want to buy 100,000 on a cpm, or 500,000 on a CPA - its doesnt matter. As long as the deal works for both of us, then its a goodun. And yes I know about the value of RevShare blah blah, for in the first instance we are looking for CPA or CPM and then we can take it from there.

I am looking primlarily for sportsbook, but also casino, poker and bingo. Its a big list and its segmented to a certain degree so we can target specific offers.

So, add me to MSN, lets chat and if we can come to an accord then lets get busy. Please bear in mind that the email will go out in 48/72 hours, so dont hang about. And if you have creative ready that would be even better.

    Lets get busy!

    Neil

Many thanks for all that responded and I am sorry that I couldnt broker a deal with everyone, but come 1st September I have a raft of oragnic sites going up that we can all work on

The problem I have with this is that exactly how did the person that compiled the list of emails get them?

Did the terms of the opt-in include that the emails could be sold or rented to someone else?

If an affiliate program is not small affiliate friendly (especially small US Affiliate), then they are NOT Affiliate Friendly!

    Hello

Alex asked the same thing on CAP.

Essentially my mate is an affiliate across many different sectors and focusses his time on running the sites (updating offers, SEO, blah blah). I was talking to him about the members he has from his Subscribe pages on his sites, and also through the competitions he runs etc, and told him it was a massive source of income.

He asked me to prove it to him, so I am.

Having been an AM myself, I can understand that reticence to work with this kind of cold list if you dont know where its from, however, even with a database this size, you are realistically only going to get a 1-2% serious open rate and a further 1-10$ of actual deposits (depending on the offer), so although the sample size sounds massive, in the whole scale of things its quite small.

Anyway, lets see what happens. Luckily I think that this weekend is probably the best time to launch as its the beginning of the footie season.

Just to add - all deals have been done as either a hybrid (very low CPA plus revshare, or straight revshare) - I understand both merchant and affiliates placings and want to be as transparent as I can. You give me a slightly higher revshare, and I will invest my money in pushing the database. Its a mutually beneficial contract based on transparent information, sadly deals like this arent that common as 99% of affiliates kee[ everything secret and so the gaming companies cant accurately see what is happening and where the players are coming from.

And then they moan about stuff.

    Again I have a problem.

You addressed the response rate and how much could be made with the list, but did NOT adrees what people were told that were placed on the list.

    You've lost me mate

From my experience, its pretty much impossible to state accurately how many players you can get form an email. If you could then you would divide the player value by the CPA and then do a deal based on that so that everyone wins.

All I did was put the offer out and take the best offers, whether that was based on brand strength, offer value, revshare offered or cpa deal available.

There's no point at all saying 'I can deliver this over that time, as you cant guarantee it. If I could, then everyone would want a piece of it. I am not much different to any other affiliate apart from the fact that I used to do your job so am aware that the volume of players is not as important as the value of those players, and also aware of what affiliates try and lever as a reasonable rate from guys like you.

And because of that I am happy to take the middle ground based on my experience of what an Aff Manager wants *and* what an affiliate wants and then be transparent about what I am doing and how I am doing it.

Bottom line is mate, if you offer 30% revshare and I say that I am going to email 1.5 million users but would like 40% revshare to include you, then you would do it - its my risk and and you stand to reap the rewards. Even if its 10% less than what you would normally get - its still zero risk to you isnt it.

And thats what I did. Still the list is closed now, but *if* it works as I planned then we will be doing 1 email per week to the database - not only to pick up more players but also to remind people of the offers out there and get them to spend again on their account.

Dude, if you are worried or have any Q's then just add me to msn - TheBoyMitchell@hotmail.co.uk.

Google me as well - I think I am pos 9 on Google for Neil Mitchell and it might give you a better idea about me Pos 9 out of 2.35 million results with no seo. Woooooo!

    Take care

I think the question here is what terms did the subscribers on the list sign up under. A lot of subscription terms include the line 'your email address will not be rented or sold to anyone, etc'.

At least, that's what I got anyway.

Oh - I see what you mean.

No - all addresses are opted in. All have ticked (or not ticked, depending on which site was used etc) the 'From time to time we would like to recommend carefully selected products from our partners. Click (or not) here if you do not want to receive these offers' type blah.
