Why is it I come across many, many sponser sites/pages that don't render correctly in Moz/FF/NN ?

And, pages that are designed for 800x600 only? Which hug the top left corner of the screen in higher resolutions? I'm going to cut two because of that. I'm not inclined to send any prospects. It's really bad marketing and web mastering me thinks!

I do agree with you that sites should render as best as possible in all browsers. Having said that much, with the large selection of bugs in the various browsers it can be quite hard (if not frustrating) to get things sorted for every browser, especially with CSS. The amount of hacks one needs to put in style sheets so that they show identical in the various browsers is daunting. I can understand that webmasters focus on the browsers of the majority of their visitors and unfortunately that is in most cases the most buggy of browsers.

The second bit of your post I don't understand completely. Do you mean they should have the page centered on the page? Or do you mean they should use a fluid design? If the latter, I think it is a matter of personal preference. The first I agree looks better in most cases, but most of the casino sites I visit do display the page centered.

I agree on many points.

In fact there is a certain Microgaming group of casinos that every single site they have (except for a few they recently aquired) are designed for 800x600 and all sit flush left.

At 1024x768 it looks sad, but awlful at any resolution higher than that.

I personally design my sites for 800x600. Some time ago, I also did them flush left, but not any longer.

I looked very carefully at my stats, and when I changed them and centered the pages (still designed for 800x600) the visitor "Time on site" effectively doubled, and page view per visitor went up as well.

It was fairly easy to center the pages, I just dropped each page into a 100% table so that no matter what the resolution the visitor had, the 800 pixel wide page would be centered.

Sorry! been on vaca for a welcome relief and some R&R!

My 'news flash' is this. I will never "bendover' for a sponser. If they can't design cross-browser sites I really don't care. Around 30% of my traffic is Moz/FF/NN and I will patronize that traffic. As it stands right now, with a new site, I am sending no traffic from my sources. Because they (sponsers) can not or will not deal with it I'm not going to **** away my carefully filtered blog traffic.

I'm one small fish in the pond but it's just not gonna happen. My 'pre-sell' occurs way before my blog traffic hits my cas site. (www[dot]bigbucksgaming.com) This is very filtered traffic. I picked up (from this board) 3 of the best acclaimed spon/aff sites. I have rcvd 1 response email after alerting them and as of yet that major error hasn't been fixed yet.

I'll sell AdSense to filtered traffic first. Money is not so much at stake as is business ethics.
