BOOKMAKER William Hill has called time on its £17million takeover talks with the online gaming firm that owns the Lady Lucks brand.

The high street bookmaker has abandoned negotiations with Gibraltar-based Probability, which claims to have about one million UK customers for its bingo, poker and casino games.

It failed to say why the talks, which were revealed in September, had ended but it is thought Playtech, which has a 21 per cent stake in its online arm, believed a deal with Probability may have hurt its interests.
