Default William Hill stole my deposit and winnings !

    Hello everyone,

I know that this may be isn't the right place to post my story, but I lost any hope t get help, so I will be glad if anyone offers any suggestion...

    This is my story:

I have opened account with the bookmaker William Hill.com. I have deposited 1000 euro and was lucky to win on one friendly game before 15 days ago.

When I tryed to login my account and see my winnings I was surprised that William Hill suspended my account providing me with no information ???

We had correspondence and they said that they are performing standart security checks...

In their e-mail they are clearly declaring: ".... that the account is indefinitely suspended and cannot be reopened anytime soon. The decision to limit your account has been done by William Hill management. This was carried out after a thorough investigation of your previous transactions, which lead to the restriction placed on the account."

I have no idea what is wrong with my transactions. The only thing I can assume is that they did not like my straight winning bets on this game. (the game was featured by over 10 big Bookmakers in Europe and Asia and no one of them refused payment) I do not understand why William Hill is treating e with such disrespect !

Clearly they are not paying my winnings but they are stealing my deposit of 1000 euro !!!

In a message from today they are just stating that my account will remain closed and the funds witheld..

I can't belive this is happening. if anyone can offer what to do please comment !

Yes, this is a normal style of play for me, but never tought that bookmaker with such high reputaton as willhill.com will make such a problems to me.
I forgot to say that my account was fully verified before this happen...
They just closed my account with the only "explanation" - "management decision". They are not settling my winnings and wich is more shoking - they are withelding my deposit of 1000 euro as easy as that..

Fair enough, does seem a risky strategy to bet that much on a friendly though! Maybe they noticed unusual betting patterns on the game. Obviously your first port of call should be their customer service department and take it from there. We all know unfortunately that bookmakers can refuse payment but there is no way they can keep your deposit money. Good luck

Sounds like the match is being investigated due to betting irregularities - if you believe that is not the case then you should go to IBAS - http://www.ibas-uk.com/ - you should tell them that's what you plan to do first if they won't resolve your problem though.

Wow, 1000 euros on a friendly. Either a big wallet, even bigger balls, or some inside knowledge?

Hi, I used no bonuses or arbs. Just a straight bets. Bets of 1000-3000 euro are typical for me. Thats why I always verify my account first. I have sent William Hill my documents and got reply that they are verified. After that I have started to bet but this happened..

I already contacted the IBAS who is doing nothing - they just forward me to the Gambling Commisioner. I also wrote to him and now expekting answer.

Let say that the game is investigated (because they are not giving me any details what other problem it can be) how do you thing they will prove something. And who exactly is investigating it ? Any timeframes ?

I still can't belive that this can happen in such high rated bookmaker. Anyone been in such sittuation before ?

William Hill are a reputable bookmaker who treat players fairly. If they are refusing to pay you, there will be a legitimate reason for this, and if it is because of an investigation into the match, I don't think they will disclose this to you, especially if they believe that you are linked to this.

Why did IBAS say they could not help? What exactly did Hills say when you asked to withdraw the initial deposit? I would suggest calling them and trying to get above the most basic customer service level, as I have found them not at all helpful whenever I have had issues and they don't seem to have permission to do anything that is not scripted. I suggest asking for a reason why they will not give you your initial deposit. As we're only speculating that it's because of match fixing, I suggest you try and get William Hill to verify that they are happy with the documentation that you provided, and that it is not because of suspicions of a fraudulent account that they won't give you the money.

Investigations into match fixing are not done by bookmakers but they provide information to various Governing bodies, be that league or police, when they believe a game could be fixed. Without knowing the match, it's impossible to speculate further. There won't be any timeframe - could be weeks, months or years.

    1. My account is verified and this is not a documentation problem. I have this confirmed by e-mail before I have started betting.

    2. I am contacting William Hill almost every day. I am offering them my complete assistance but, they refuse to communicate repeating constantly their single "explanation" - "management decision" in reply to every question of mine. Which is ridiculous !

    3. If the case is "manipulated game" - who exactly can prove that, and how am I guilty for William Hill featured fixed game in their program and took 1000 euro bets without a problem, only to close my account after it without any explanation and steal even my deposit !? Which is more frightening - William Hill or any other Bookmaker can come up with the "game fixed" scenario for every random match in their calendar in order to not pay the winnings for "months and years"...

IBAS is not working with William Hill they just forwarded me to The Gambling Commissioner in Gibraltar. I am still waiting for his reply.

A brand such as William Hill has a huge reputation, worth much more than 1000, if they are investigating this matter, it isn't to cheat or deceive you, more somebody somewhere is trying to cheat or deceive the bookmaker!

OK, first, may I suggest that the "match fixing" explanation not be thrown around so much unless you can get a confirmation that is even being considered.

Like Luke suggested, you need to get a supervisor or manager to give at least the most brief explanation of what the situation is.

This happened to me very recently too! I bet 1000 USD on a major european league game. I had to go through the crazy hassle of verifying my account with sending them my passport scan. After a small win i decided to withdraw my money and this is when i immediately had HUGE problems. Here is what was asked of me:
    1. scan of both sides of credit card used
done and sent waited another 15 to talk to an agent
    2. a document verifying my address!!!
well that was rediculous considering i have been working overseas for the last 2 years and dont have an address where i get utility bills or bank statements!!!
    3. after huge cost in time and money for me....i provided the bank statemnt but that too was not quite enough...William Hill demanded a picture of the statemnet!!!
After i provided the picture of the statemnt (please keep in mind this all took over a week) they said that they will verify the account and be in touch with me via email
BUT NOTHING HAPPENED....William hill stole my money....or are at least making it so difficult to access it that i might as well give up eventually!
I even asked if i can arrive at their office in person to prove my identity but they said this is not possible!
I am sure there are other people out there in this terrible situation!!!
