Default Woke up with Severe Pain in Big Toe

This has got to stop - the pain is terrible and I find it hard to walk. I have started to put my cats (6) on a diet because well since I am on a healthy diet they are and they need to lose weight. Myself its more for good preventive health..

Anyways I dropped them down about 30% less and man they are angry..

Several days but more today i started having these awful dreams my foot was being amputated and especially my big toe was being sawed off..LOL

Anyways i awake in the morning with my Male (rest are female) cat chewing on my big toe like a dog wood on a bone - FFS it really hurts too.

I sleep with my feet sticking out of bed cause it feels comfortable..

Anyways i got smart and started wearing socks - doesn't work - i have holes in socks now - he bites threw them - draws blood every time all because he wants me to wake up and feed him.

Lat night i was like ok i am really smart - i covered them with blanket and he is not getting my feet this time.

OMG this morning i wake up and he is under the covers chewing away with bulging eyes - scared the by jesus out of me..

Any suggestions on what to do to protect my big toes?

    Hi Rick,

First of all sorry to hear about your toe hope it gets better soon.

Here's a suggestion: Let your cats sleep outside, lol.

    Hahahah, I love that post!!

You should be looking at it this way.. at least he hasn't started chewing on anything else ... yet!

Only thing I can think of is to distract the cat somehow. So at night, you might want to put out some toys which move around a bit when they play with it.

Haha - yeah my cats are all indoor i would never let them out

Rak - I cover the important parts with a pillow I have been jumped on to many times causing great distress in certain areas. Learned my lesson. LOL

cass - haha yeah i love that pic. I recently the last month or so have been really taking care of my teeth - just got obsessive about it. When i was young the dentist told me I have the perfect set of teeth that only 1% of the population has. Years later i know had a couple of minor issues that freaked me out - paranoid of ending up like the pic.. LOL

I think putting some RUB A535 on your toes/feet before you go to bed may help. The smell of that stuff would repel any creature.

My dog is fascinated with my husband’s toes as well. I think what attracts him to his toes is the ingrown toenail. So perhaps your cat can detect something wrong with your toes and he is trying to you to do something about it.

I do love your avatar as well

Steve I hear cats will eat their owners when they die , yours may be getting a head start lol.I think the deep cold idea may work but after few hours in bed that smell will go away ,shut the door in your bedroom lol

I was about to say something similar. I'm not sure what RUB A535 is but if you rub eucalyptus oil or Vicks Vapour Rub along a doorway the cats will not go near it, so perhaps get some vicks and put it on your feet before you go to bed. I'm willing to bet it will stop.

Yes, vapor rub should work or you could just feed them before you go to bed.

I've had vicks vapor rub, and sports heat creams (deep heat)... sweat and drip into places they should never .. ever.. ever go. It burns.. burns.. no amount of washing could get rid of it quick enough, instead it just spreads
