Default Wordpress.com blog with affiliate links, bad idea?

hi, i have been trying out wordpress.com to get a feel for it before i get hosting and download wordpress.org, i have made a pretty cool little blog with a few pages but i have got lots of affiliate links and links to my other sites, its currently a wordpress blog with a subdomain example.wordpress.com, i would like to pay the $17 upgrade and register a proper domain name but will wordpress just ban me and take my blog down, i know your not meant to do it but has anyone else done or is doing this?

There are tons of blogs out there using WP software . I run a few myself including Onlinecasinoworld.com . If you are using your own hosting and your own domain name you can pretty much do what you want. I do suggest taking a look at specialist wordpress hosts .

My site as well - www.winyourway.ca is done using Wordpress.
One thing I will mention is that if you are not a fluent programmer, Wordpress can be a little tricky to work with. I prefer to spend my time of expanding my site, and not actually doing the programming of it. I have a freelance wordpress programmer who does work for me to do changes and updates that I need... This has saved me a bunch of time and resources to be able to move forward. Wordpress is extremely power platform, it can just be a bit tricky sometimes without a good programming foundation.

And for buying it out from wordpress, I would just suggest purchasing your own domain for another registrar, then getting your own hosting as well...which is not very much.... HostGator has some great hosting plans and they have a registrar as well.
