gonna repeat what betfair said to me, they want people playing the sportsbook and then the successful winning player they encourage them to use the exchange. makes sense to me. no point shifting their losing players from sportsbook to exchange

True, but I have quizzed them a number of times as they have begged to get on my sites, and they still won't come clean as to why they only limit you to 5 years rev share on exchange - my conclusion, perhaps because it's very profitable!

To compete Betfair just need to have a transparent rev share model. They won't compete with the big boys as they are.

Would love to promote Betfair though. I think they're a good brand in the UK. 30%+ rev share across all products would convince me though. They just can't compete on less than that.

That said, I'm still annoyed how I lost my BlueSq players to Betfair and got paid nothing for it when BlueSq shut down and sold those accounts to Betfair. That to me is a sign of how a business operates, and I'm reluctant to work with a company that doesn't treat affiliates well.

im not sticking up for betfair at all and would love lifetime but while they aint i just take it on the chin. I honestly think for the exchange they aren't really that bothered about affiliates as the product is so unique and good, and dominating in the niche it brings people in on it's own. the sportbook needs to be look at differently hence why they are going about things the right way

I would say the exchange did dominate the market, but it's now waning as Betfair got hit by a lot of regulatory changes and taxes, so now doesn't take customers from a lot of countries. For example they pulled out of Germany I think. With that in mind, there's a risk you'll lose your referrals as countries become more stringent about their rules around betting exchanges and they shut down in these countries.

Like one of their competitors once said to me at a conference - "betfair had an amazing idea that threatened all other companies in the industry, but managed to completely screw that up and end up with a really crap sportsbook"!

Back to the topic though, interesting that some bookies are throwing out loads of ridiculous offers that will simply credit players' accounts with money to bet, whereas other bookies are keeping their offering to the basics, no crazy offers, no crazy money back specials etc.

Perhaps some bookies' strategy is to not go for acquisition this tournament. That, or they're waiting until the latter stages of the tournament to pull out the big offers.

Wasn't the best start but the last 3 days have been really good - Brazil drawing and Spain going out - all bets on outright winner were settled so I saw a massive + yesterday.

Approx. 100 FTD's in the opening 6 days and hoping for more of the same as the tournament progresses.

My top 4 for this world cup in order of signups: Bet365, Betfred, Coral, Paddy.

Thankfully the negative revenues have gone and starting to make some money, it's just a shame that it has to be off the back of another poor England display. It's some small consolation i suppose, but I'd rather England win and take a hit than profit from our failure.

Best month revenue-wise. Over 200 FTD's since the tournament began however I have had similar numbers previously during the football season and although I expect the quarterfinals and beyond to show a massive increase in FTD's, so far my FTD numbers are pretty similar to a normal month.

Deposits and turnover have increased quite a bit and active players numbers went from 200-300 active per day during non-football days to over 500 every single day of the tournament.

Are you talking about one bookie or a collection of bookies? I never bother to add up FTDs across bookies, I usually just watch what I'm doing at my top 2-3 fairly closely. Active per day is a tricky one to check except Bet365 where it's easy to see.

Record numbers of FTDs, revenue has been steady but not even close to last months figures. Had one huge day which I believe may have been biggest ever with a sportsbook.

You can do this easily on any IA program - just do a earnings report and select 'detail view'. That will give you turnover for each of the products, as well as number of bets, active accounts etc.. (what is available in the report seems to vary slightly between programs, but on the whole they're similar enough).

You can also list it by day by selecting the 'date' checkbox.

Cheers for that, I still need to learn more about the reports rather than just looking at the basics, I used what you said and yep it's pretty useful to look at by date etc in IA.

Plus yeh you;re right certain bookies you can see active accounts and some you can't. Can't see it at Betfred for example but can at Coral. Useful stuff.

Over a total of 4. My biggest player base is with bet365 but as idiot said you can view daily actives with a few other prog's.
