Whilst Ronaldo did a bit of a one-man job on them, I thought Spain were exceptional at times in that game yesterday. If they can cut out the mistakes at the back, then they look really strong.
France were hugely disappointing today against Australia. A collection of good individuals but don't play like a team. I could see Spain ripping them apart.

Germany were really poor, they look very beatable and I'm not sure now with Werner if they have enough up front. He had a mediocre season at Leipzig and Muller, Boateng, Khedira etc don't quite look at the level they used to be.
Brazil were ok, Swiss were well organised but Brazil could still be strong, definitely still a contender.
I keep coming back to Spain now. Currently 5/1 second favourites and shortening so I guess others are thinking the same.
Triple7 (17 June 2018)
Spain did look quite good, unless 3 goals of Portugal. They're having relatively easy matches ahead and even if they'll become 2nd in the group, Uruguay won't be the showstopper.
Brazil did look good a part of the first half, but then they lost somehow their play. A bit too much give the ball to Neymar and let's all watch what he'll do with it. Same thing for Argentina with Messi.
Germany didn't look very good, but Mexico did very well 60 mins.
Tomorrow Belgium and England.
So far an entertaining World Cup. I don't see the need to expand to 48 teams. That means more weaker teams, in groups with 3, it might be effective to park a bus in front of the goal. Number of Asian, African and North American teams will almost be doubled. I understand it's a World Cup and not a Copa America or Euro Cup, but a bit too much in my opinion.
I managed to place some bets and have them all pay out on the weekend, so I'm pretty happy. Quadrupled my money
Disappointed in the Aus-Fra game, but totally expected France to win. Just a boring crappy game really. France played like crap. Aus defended well, but they had no attack. Hopefully it has given Aus a kick in the ass for the game on Thursday.
I didn't watch the Germany-Mexico game, but was shocked to see that Mexico won. All I can say about that is W T F.

Even without being Mexican I had piel chinita when I heard the whole stadium singing Cielito Lindo.
Australia was a bit scr**** in my opinion. Penalty was quite easily given. France didn't impress at all. Cheap penalty and a lucky goal. Penalty France gave away was a 100% penalty, but completely unnecessairy.

England my favorite!
Yesterday it was a great game!
I hope to see them in final)
Maybe you know where i can place a bat about W.C 2018?

Until Sunday it was Germany.... now I am really not sure anymore. They really need to up their game and start playing soccer instead of standing on the field. Very surprising is Iceland.. I will keep an eye on them.
After seeing the first games, I can say I'm quite disappointed by: England, Brazil, Germany, Argentina. I'll cheer for Switzerland for obvious reasons, but don't really have a favorite. I usually cheer for the underdogslike Costa Rica.
Spain and Portugal did alright I think, would be interesting to follow once the favorites GET out of the groups.

Congrats to all the countries that have played so far!
Very unexpected results for some like Mexico.

Looks like Ronaldo has finally surpassed my great uncle in international goal record.

Great idea with this post to show everyone votes.
My previous pick was Germany as I'm English this was a difficult thing to write but I thought they looked on paper that they'd be the strongest.
After game 1, Germany lost 1-0 to Mexico and England beat Tunisia 2-1.
I'd like to change my vote back to England lol!
What do they always say never change your mindI'd like to change my vote back to England lol!
