Haha it's hard to hide the national pride when you see them walk out in the shirts. But it's part of being English, starting off not expecting anything, then getting over excited and finally losing in a penalty shootout in the knockouts lol

Bloody Germans. Costly mistake by the keeper he was always going to aim for the far post corner.

So would I but I don't like their chances. Di Maria was a big reason why they did so well last World Cup.

Very costly mistake for me personally, I had a big minus that day, I reckon cos of Germany's late winner.

So many annoying mistakes going up to that goal for Sweden - Guidetti could have ran it into the corner but instead did a tame shot, Durmaz gave away such a needless foul (and did another one earlier) and then the keeper only putting up a small wall when there was a clear angle for a shot.

Sweden really threw that position away.

Lose a multi? I had a feeling Germany would lose too.

Don't think they had the self belief. They were terrible in the second half after starting so well. Anyway, if a team like Sweden can trouble Germany I can't see them progressing very far this World Cup. They will struggle to score goals against better opposition.

Bert Van Marwijk is lucky he's not coaching Colombia he would be a dead man walking.

I think van Marwijk did a very good job. Australia looked well-organized, but lacking top class players you need to go through in the World Cup. Qualification was also kind of problematic for Australia.

Germans are beaten only when they're in the bus going home. Sweden basically asked for it the 2nd half. 1st half they played well and Germany was ready to get beaten. 2nd half was completely different. Germany was going for it and Sweden was way weaker. Guidetti trashed their only opportunity in the 2nd half.

England, gotta see it how they'll perform against stronger teams. Tunisia and Panama were not very good teams. Or England or Belgium will have probably a quite easy path to semi finals.

So far the big teams didn't impress very much, but I guess they save the best for the KO stage. France, Brazil... they will be difficult to beat. Same thing for the Germans, they woke up just on time.

Australia has top class players, the problem was they were sitting on the bench for most of the World Cup. Cahill created more in 10 mins then Juric did the entire World Cup and Arzani should have gotten more minutes. It was terrible coaching.

Could not agree more. I was at the casino last night watching the game and I left about ten mins before the end. Was heart breaking to watch. Although gotta say that game last night was the best of the 3.

That one goal that could have been perfectly setup for Cahill to score though if it was just back a bit. ***.

So now I guess I will cheer for Croatia until they get knocked out too.

Sad, sad day. Cannot believe I stayed up for that game.
