For a brief period it was alone, because my gf/wife packed her things with part of my money, because "her whole life was just seeing my back while I was working". So now it is perfect. I sleep. Certainly people can choose a bit different paths. Like you can do a lot of caffeine or cocaine. You will ruin your body, but maybe speed the things up Or you can become an alcoholic and the stress will be gone (along with liver and brain in long term). But there is no way you can get lucky in anything you do online and you will pay for every cent you get. Competition is hard.
I did much the same thing in 10 years.

Got bored once, and worked out a proximity of hours spent working, in those 10 years. That figure came close to 47,000 hours. To put that into perspective... It would take someone working a 38 hour week, a total of 25 years, to complete those work hours.

That hard-work has certainly provided me with a lifestyle, I probably wouldn't have had otherwise. However, there are downsides. One of which is insomnia, the catalyst of my self induced sleep deprivation for all those years. And, just like Sherlock, its cost me a decent relationship too. But hey, life goes on. You keep moving and doing. Otherwise what's life for!

"On the more joke-ish sie, telling someone that they won't make it is a good way to lower competition" Spot on! I couldn't have said it better. I write reviews for some affiliate sites and only now am I starting my own affiliate site. Imagine my shock when I read some responses from some 'trusted' reviewers, sites I always see whenever researching.
I'm convinced I won't make a fortune, but with hard work, the right approach and patience, I will get there.
Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe it's about unbecoming everything that really isn't you...so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place."-Unknown

I think it's because people go in thinking they can make a page and just leave it there like an investment without realising it's a full time job.
when they don't see results after a few months they just give up and it gathers dust.

Yep, also it's easy to knock up a website of some form or other.
It's harder getting traffic and learning all the other skills such as marketing and conversions.
I also have found some niches almost impossible to crack, whereas others work a treat, so it can also be about careful niche selection.

Default very new to this - promoting multiple casinos through reviews still viable/possible?

Hello, as my title suggests, i am very new to this and researching whether there is possible to make some revenue through review site promoting multiple casinos at once with hotlinking their affiliate links and hoping some folks would deposit and i would get some share from it.
is this ok with terms and conditions with those end casino brands or some of them only allow the affiliation on a separate or exclusive basis?
what are the other limitations in my proposed strategy that i should be aware?

i am asking this, because I wasn't able to find an answer to that by googling.
    thanks

Yes, many think it is still a viable option, provided you are willing to put in the time and effort.

When you say "hotlinking" you must remember to only use approved affiliate links and methods provided by the affiliate programs.

Well some people use the term "hotlink" for different things.

The main older definition of hotlinking would refer to someone hotlinking to images (or other resources or content) on other people's websites, often without the website owner's knowledge or permission. (this would end up using bandwith and resources of someone else's site, while serving pages)

In the above case, I am thinking that affiliatewannabe is referring to standard href affiliate links, and calling them that, although they may well just be regular links.

Here is the wiki on it
    https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotlinking
And I found this page was one of the simplest , most direct explanations of the practice I have seen in a long time.
    http://altlab.com/hotlinking.html

If anyone would like to continue a discussion about hotlinking, and how to combat it etc, drop me a line in PM and we can move the posts directly discussing that to another thread, as the main topic of this thread is the pro's and con's of new affiliates entering the affiliate space and whether it is still beneficial to do so.

It does. You just need to figure out the right way to get traffic to your site organically, then it builds on itself from there. Going the social media route, you have a higher time cost, but still worth it.

As many here has written its worth it if you love doing this also its a LOT of work if you don't have a big team of people doing tings. Also your sites will be like your baby, you need to take care of them daily and have a lot of patience. And you need also to look out for trends in the marked to always be ahead of the marked. Wish all new players in the affiliate word good luck, also one last thing the marked is BIG enough for all of us. Dont do anything bad with other sites in the marked, because its a lot of work the webmaster has put in, trust me

This is not bad. It gathers age and that builds google trust. Those abandoned pages (if good quality) should get traffic.

based on your experience is it better with small or bigger famous casinos?
and to sum it up, so basically it's all about website, good search engine rankings and hoping for conversion. and that's about it, right?

You don't just "hope" for conversions. You provide quality content that converts.

I think we are all brothers somehow. If not from the same mother, then from the same mold. This is my story as well. A decade of back-breaking, soul-crushing, relationship-poisoning, 80 hour work weeks.

The prize at the end of the rainbow is nice of course. But few will be willing to pay the price. And of those few who think they are willing to pay the price, fewer still of those will make it to the finish line.

Same here.. sometimes 5.00am start, work until midnight with a hour siesta inbetween, however I do now try and get weekends to myself when out of sport season but the rest is full on, however my lifestyle is rewarded and allows me to live on my own terms
