Question Would you take payment from a bitcoin site in bitcoins or a traditional currency?

At the ICE conference earlier today we had a conversation with an operator planning to open a bitcoin-based casino. We've seen a number of casinos making the decision to support bitcoins, with my own site, online.casinocity.com, currently listing over 50 online gaming sites that support bitcoins.

The operator asked us about our opinion about whether affiliates would accept payment in bitcoins, or would prefer to convert earnings immediately to a currency like Euros, or Pounds Sterling, or Dollars. Rather than speculate, we figured it would make a good subject for this week's poll.

Do you already, or do you expect you will promote a bitcoins casino in the future, and would you keep your affiliate earnings in bitcoins, or cash out in a different currency? Share your thoughts about casinos using this currency and the reasons for your payment preferences.

Here at Panther Casino we have accepted Bitcoin since day one as alternative depositing method but Bitcoin deposits are not even 3% of our total deposits but Bitcoin deposits are growing each month but very slowly.

That said we immediate convert all Bitcoin deposits into USD or Euros because the currency can be so volatile.

We would pay out in Bitcoin if the affiliate wanted this form of settlement but the affiliate would have signed off that if there is any negative change in the value from the time we pay out on our end until the time he changes the Bitcoin to USD or Euros it is their loss.

I think it depends - if it were a bitcoin only site (where all transactions were in bitcoins) I'd probably be ok with it as it makes sense, but would instantly convert to GBP. From an accounting perspective it would probably be easier for us as a company to have it converted by the program prior to sending it though (although I'm talking off the top of my head as I have no idea).

On the flip side, if it were a site that took other payment methods as well or where the games were being played in a traditional currency, then I wouldn't want bitcoins.

I promoted Bitcoin casinos hard for over 6 months, and hardly made anything with them. Besides, there are so many bitcoin casinos out there, and just about anyone can set up their own bitcoins casino. So even if I wanted to promote a bitcoin casino in the future, I just wouldn't know who to trust.

seems like a hassle, having to then convert bitcoins through some exchange (and hoping you don't get scammed or coins don't depreciate too much) to then withdraw to your bank.
Would rather just have bank deposits.

Interesting poll. I'm curious since there are still so many questions about bitcoin and it's confusing to me tbh.

The lack of reasoning behind huge price fluctuation gives pause. Along with what/who inspired this crypto currency. Some of the things I've read include hacking theft and imminent taxation. Also that if you lose your web based bitcoin account key - whether through virus or whatever - it's gone forever. Conspiracy theorists claim it's government run/started to gain world currency domination since the origin of who started it is unclear.

I'm too unsure and to think about using it and really haven't looked into it enough. Then there's litecoin too.

Seems wild west still and we've had enough of that.

I dont mind promoting bitcoin brands in general but I voted:
I would want bitcoin affiliate earnings to be paid in another currency.

I personally do not believe in this currency

I couldn't ever see myself promoting bitconins anywhere on-line. I don't know a huge amount about it but it seems a very dodgy currency. I may be wrong!

    Never.

Just due to the sheer volatility of BTC my business would go up and down like a rollercoaster. Thanks but no thanks.

Well, as long as they pay, I don't care if it's in BTC or in €. I prefer €, but if it's only possible in BTC, than in BTC. That said, still waiting some payments and no reactions...

Bitcoin price is so dynamic. I would prefer other options currently.
