Default WSOP may scrap rebuy tournmanets

CardPlayer is reporting that the World Series of Poker may scrap all of the rebuy tournaments on its schedule next year. The thinking is that rebuys are unfair to the average player, since most pros are willing to rebuy multiple times in the pursuit of a bracelet.

Bit of an overaggressive response to viewing multiple re-buys as a problem. It seems like the obvious solution would be to put a limit on the number of re-buys allowed.

    Hmmmm....

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

I have been in small tourneys before that someone that did a rebuy came back and beat me....and yet a few times I too did a rebuy and ended up doing ok after that so I have felt it from both sides....

Maybe limiting to a certain number might be better....but I do see the point of how the rebuys gives the pros and those with deeper pockets more of an edge.

I would also agree that putting a limit on the rebuys is a better method, cause there is nothing more irritating when you push in all your chips as a massive favourite and still get outdrawn, then you want to rebuy if you feel you have been playing good all the time.

On the other hand, if allowing for no rebuys at all we might get a more disciplined game with fewer people chasing that 4 outer.

Think I should hit the casino and play some cards tonight, feel in the mood for it now
