Default Are You Using A Content Delivery Network For Your Website Yet?

    Cdn*

a content delivery network or content distribution network (cdn) is a globally distributed network of proxy servers deployed in multiple data centers. The goal of a cdn is to serve content to end-users with high availability and high performance. Cdns serve a large fraction of the internet content today, including web objects (text, graphics and scripts), downloadable objects (media files, software, documents), applications (e-commerce, portals), live streaming media, on-demand streaming media, and social networks.
The term cdn means many things to different people and is an umbrella term that covers a lot of different types of content delivery services. Video streaming, software downloads, web and mobile content acceleration, licensed/managed cdn, transparent caching, and services to measure cdn performance, load balancing, multi-cdn switching and analytics and cloud intelligence. It’s a complex ecosystem with a lot of vendors both large and small and some cdn vendors cross over into other industries like security and wan optimization.[1]

No - much of my content and advertising changes depending on the Geo-location of the end user.
I've yet to find a good CDN that's easy to configure this in.

Yes, I use Cloudflare and I have to say that even without any extra features it makes my website faster and has a lot of security options which you can configure easily: blocking IPs, countries etc. You can also automatically minify CSS, Javascript and HTML files and choose the caching level you need.

Yes I use a CDN for www.casinoslots.zone and I geo-target content as well. I've just recently started work on this site again, so it is still work in progress.

CDNs like cloudflare will make your site more robust, protect you from DDoS attacks and take off load from your server enabling faster loading.

If you worry about geo targeting issues you just need to make sure your location targeting software supports the detection of 'real visitor IPs' and it's not detecting the firewall / CDN server IPs.

A good example of a WP plugin that supports this is https://wordpress.org/plugins/geotargeting/

Cloudflare provides a good level of performance and security even with its free version so we definitely recommend it.

CDN are good - I use Cludflare mainly, with both free and paid memberships, based on websites

you can use it in various ways: either push the entire website through the CDN or just the static content like css, scripts, images.. in for this last case you can set to serve all these through a subdomain for example like cdn.yourwebsite.com, while your website stays on the IP you own for SEO purposes if you want

for geo-targeting - we use it without a problem with several scripts, both for banner delivery and for landing page link - all through CDN and does not affect identification of the user

i have setup CF and make some tests...

before i have track http/TTFB/Full Page load over some hours.CF need some hours to start running, but now i have the results.

My TTFB without CF is between 155secs and 180secs - World Wide!
With CF between 470secs and 1,3s.

CF is useless for me.ībecause i cant improve the speed.

    Today i try cloudfront.

If you're using a budget shared hosting account there is not much that will help the speed of your site. No caching or CDN will provide miracles in that case.

Been impressed with cloudflare that dramatically improves speed of one site I tested it on from all around the world. Took me a while to realise that the detailed and well-written affiliate seo articles (and videos) selling maxcdn that say 'use cloudflare and maxcdn' are wrong (unless you use cloudflare only for dns) as that is using two cdns, and actually broke a site. Much faster just using cloudflare (though I'm sure maxcdn is good on its own too), though it seemed to take a good week to settle down and get the best results (propagation across their network maybe?). So maybe if you test cloudflare give it time and make sure all settings are as advised if you are using W3TC too. Cloudflare could do with some better and more detailed instruction and explanations on their site. The one downside is the non static shared IP, though I don't know how important that is for seo if google knows your target country and, according to cloudflare, is aware of cloudflare's IP ranges.

W3TC is the same...first u have to optimize your page with hands, pictures,js,html and later u can try to use this plugin.

@Draftdog U host not far away from me,but your ttfb can be better 0,7 - 3,2.

Give a bit more time to CF, it takes longer to be stabilized now.
Also they are opening many new data centers on all continents, I guess the results will be better in the future.

Atm i play with APCu and Opcache (Intel Xeon / 32gb / SSD / 16 core)

I think this is the best and fastest way...but first i have to roll some tests.

    Hi Guys,

We're using CDN for most of our websites. For example our site is attached to the CDN service since 2016 and the page speed is times better. CDNs serve a large fraction of the Internet content today. This is why I think you should try it. One suggestion: don't buy the service from the cheapest CDN company. Always look whether they have data center in your location, town/city or country. Your target group will tell you which CDN is the best for your needs.

    Regards
