Avoid stuff like WP Rocket, either use FlyingPress (which is faster) or LiteSpeed Cache if you use a LiteSpeed server. RankMath has become superior to Yoast and Elementor is just ...
Yoast SEO
A short list to start as smooth as possible:
Yoast.
Elementor.
Pretty links.
WPCode
ACF
I try to go as minimal as possible, but there are a few necessities:
- ACF Pro: Storing and handling various types of data
- Contact Form 7: Lightweight frontend forms for users
- Any CF7 to webhook plugin: Passing user submitted data to other services
- Yoast SEO: For setting meta titles and analyze content
- Redirection: For managing affiliate link redirects
- FileBird Pro: I like to have my media libraries organized
- *MultilingualPress: If multilingual site (requires multisite network)
- *All-in-One WP Migration: For taking backups between deployments
Other tools I like to use:
- Regenerate Thumbnails: When replacing images
- Better Search Replace: To quickly mass replace data in the database
- Safe SVG/SVG Support: Add support for SVG images (or just code this into theme)
The most important for me is having custom built theme so you can develop features directly into your site instead of using tons of plugins that add bloat and vulnerabilities. Trust me, it's not nice to clean up a site that's been infected.
Also, running a Nginx server with Cloudflare with proper caching and security configs to avoid the need to use caching and security plugins.
For me, it's WP-Optimize, Yoast Seo, UpdraftPlus, Really Simple SSL, Wordfence Security and a Page builder (of your own preference)
Extras - Advanced Custom Fields, WP Code Lite

There are various types of plug-ins, but we recommend starting with the minimum number of plug-ins and choosing one that allows you to compress images or customize tables. If you get hung up on it from the beginning, it won't go well.
Here's my essential WP plugin set:
Wordfence or All In One WP Security - keeps your site secure, I like both.
404 Solution - No "broken" links anymore.
Contextual Related Posts - helps if you have a lot of content
LuckyWP Table of Contents or Easy Table of Contents - keeps long articles organized for reader
TablePress - nice tables
WP Coupons and Deals (Premium) - keeps bonuses organized
WP Review - still using it, haven't found better.
Yoast SEO or The SEO Framework - depending of the use case
Autoptimize and WP-Optimize - for speed
wp rocket is a must
My Top 3...
Link Whisper
Rank Math
Yoast Duplicate Post (rewrite & republish)
This my must have:
- Elementor
- RankMath SEO
- Redirection
- Classic Editor
- Contact Form 7
- EWWW Image Optimizer
Contact Form 7
EWWW Image Optimizer
WP Mail SMTP
XML Sitemap Generator for Google
Yoast SEO is a must-have. In the beginning, you can skip other plugins, yoast saves you from extra unnecessary work. After basic optimization, I recommend WP Rocket (the paid one); the free version isn't that useful, missing important stuff. Classic editor is also useful.
I use the following:
LiteSpeed Cache
Polylang
Rank Math SEO
Reusable Blocks Extended
ThirstyAffiliates
Wordfence Security
Please recommend a plugin for images to compress them and display them correctly?
I would also like to know which plugin to use for micro markup (there is already Rank Math SEO, but it has limited capabilities)
Classic Editor I would say
Plugin for demo slot games https://slotsreach.com/demo-plugin
