    Default Youtube vs Serving your own Vids

    I am trying to define my video structure on my site livecasinodirectory.co.uk. I have been serving the vids myself and posting them. There are about 70 videos now. My style is different. Perhaps not the best. But right now I would like to address the SEO ramifications of first posting them on Youtube and placing their code on my page vs serving them myself. Which will get me in better SEO shape?

    In the sitemap in webmaster tools I have all of them indexed. At least that is what is reported there. However when I go to site:livecasiodirectory.co.uk i find only a few listed. Click on the Video tab in the left menu and only 9 appear. But I will go to a leading livedelaer casino website and search site:leadinglivewebsite.com and I see 150 videos. I went to a few of those pages and see that it is being served by youtube. He must have YouTube's code there.
    I have found a few SEO suggestions on the net lately saying that you will have better results with SERPS posting vids in youtube, since it is Google related.

    I am wondering how other webmasters structure their vids and what their experiences and results are.

    Quoting from Danny Dover's 'Search Engine Optimization Secrets';

    "Don't host the video on Vimeo or YouTube, because you won't get the link benefit. Instead, sign up for Amazon Web Services (relatively inexpensive cloud computing) and host it yourself. Make sure that the video is embedded on a URL you own, not one owned by Amazon. (Amazon doesn't need any more links.)"

    This is something i've been thinking about a lot recently as i'm looking to add a lot of video content to my site. I like Danny Dover's book and it makes sense not to host it on your own server for the purposes of keeping loading time down.

    I'm confused about what you mean. If i post it on YouTube i place a link there. So I get a link. I don't when I serve it myself.

    On another related topic... Noramlly I embed and serve my own video then upload it to Youtube for a link. Am i OK on that from an SEO?Google point of view?

    yeah but youtube gets the benefit, well in my opinion if your site does not have rank share it on youtub to grow, the idea with videos is to get known, well or you could host it on youtube and into your server as well .... this will do the trick i guess lol

    I was told it's preferred to have a YouTube channel linked to your domain, just like it's good to have social media channels linked to it.

    So imho from this pov hosting on YouTube and embedding the vids on your site should be fine for seo.

    The link benefit it this instance - i assume - is the benefit of the natural links that videos are likely to attract, with users more likely to link to the youtube page than the webpage it's embedded in.

    Hosting your own vids has it's down sides.

    If you get a good amount of traffic & embeds, it will cost you a fortune in Bandwidth and CPU Cycles.

    Granted, you'll get the SEO benefit from any links/embeds you acquire... but if you let people embed your vids... you'll burn a huge amount of bandwidth and if you host HD vids... well, you better have deep pockets.

    Of course, if hosting your own vids will not kill your ROI, the SEO benefits can be worth the costs, IMO.

    My site is on word press, and I recently activated new plug-gins for video file uploading, with the help of these plug in i can directly call video in my word-press no need to upload video on youtube or vimbio, in that way i get all the benefits of my video to my site directly.
