    Default Zynga exec explains why itís abandoning U.S. online gambling

    Real-money gambling and FarmVille just don’t mix.


    Zynga chief operations officer David Ko said in an analyst conference call today that the company decided not to invest in U.S. real-money online gambling because it needs to stay focused on social gaming and its core casual audience.

    I always felt the vast majority of the Zynga social gamers were not real gamblers and that they had unreasonable expectations on what their real money conversions were going to be.

    Zynga stock drops after gambling plans fizzle

    Zynga stock falls 17 percent in morning trading. Zynga says it's dropping plans for a US gambling license that would let it offer casino-type online games with real money.
