I just want to point out that there are legal reasons some webmasters might prefer CPA deals in some situations.

In the case of Casino City, we are happy to operate on a revenue share basis with respect to any online gaming site that does not accept any US players.

However, for sites that do not bar US players we will only work on a CPM or CPA basis. Of course, we operate our site in a fashion that is clean enough that our attorney's felt comfortable with our filing a suit against the DOJ a few years ago. They would have advised us against filing that suit if we had any relationships with sites that accepted US players on a revenue share basis.

i had no doubts about paying the affiliate i was just pissed on what to do next
like you guys said even if i am right here he can still go out and post that I'm not paying affiliates
and once your reputation is smeared even if you are innocent people will always be suspicious about working with you

so the first thing i must do after i pay the affiliate of course is to have
a pro look into my" Terms and conditions" a.s.a.p

With CPA deals, it's advisable to use both deposit and play minimums. This is going to catch the vast majority of attempts to rip you off via depositing -> getting paid for a CPA -> withdrawing.

Affiliates will inevitably test your CPA systems to make sure they're working as advertised and you do need to consider how to deal with this ahead of time.

I personally allow affiliates to make test signups and play in their own account, some programs don't. If an affiliate has one player, and it's themselves, well that's not OK. However if they have 300, and one is their personal account, well then it's obvious that they're trying to do the right thing.

What it really comes down to, is whether the affiliate is trying to do the right or wrong thing by the spirit of the terms as much as the letter.

Looks like a clear case of fraud to me.

CPA needs to have restrictions based on it. It doesn't necessarily have to do with relatives (I know several married couples who both play and it would be a shame and a loss to cut that out) but it has to do with a badly defined CPA.

I recommend that all programs offering CPA make sure that it is structured so that people cannot abuse it.

I would add a clause about play-through of the deposit. I am sure there are more ways to do this too.

As far as i am concerned - this is downright fraud by the affiliate. To me it makes no difference whether it is stated in the T's and C's - anyone with half a brain should know that what they are doing is fraudulent, and the fact that they only played $1.00 tells me that it was intentional.
Personally I refuse point blank to do CPA deals, as Rev share is more profitable in the long run, but if Affiliates ask the casino to do it, and I was the Affiliate Manager, I would only do it once I have seen how that particular affiliate performs under a rev share agreement to establish trust first. CPA deals are open to a lot of abuse.

The sickening part of this whole thing is that it is a GPWA member. Why have they not been in here to defend themselves if they were not aware that what they did was wrong.( granted they may not have seen the posts )

Not to mention, merchants pay for that money to be deposited in good faith.
You should keep the deposits too, IMO.

Sorry that happened to you, however, since you learned that you need to tweak up your terms, there is a bright side I guess.:thumbsup:

Can I ask whether the person in question was a regular GPWA member, or a GPWA private member?

ohh he knows heather... after reading the replays yesterday i got upset again so i sent him an e-mail with a link to the post

believe me i don't want to pay him a nickle BUT I'll swallow the bitter pill this time since"Legally"
it does not state any where on my T&C that its not allowed
and im still kinda new to the industry so i don't want to worry about bed rep if he decides to trash us saying we dont pay

the F* thing about it is that i usually work with rev share
but he asked specifically to work on one of our cpa campaign

Well at least the lesson was learned

His account should be suspended and no money given.

Also please send an email to gpwa and cap maybe they can put him/her on the blacklist. Saves us solid affiliates headaches with legit companies like yourself.
