Hi-
I see that APCW does an audit which includes the cookie duration of various programs, but I wanted to start a thread that consolidates the cookie length in the t's and c's of each program. Can AM's post their program's cookie duration in this thread or if such a thread already exists, point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. :)
You can scroll down to the bottom and click on each affiliate program. Once you are on that page it should be clearly stated on each affiliate programs page. You have to go to each and everyone of them, they are all different.
There have been a few threads discussing this in detail in the past, but my quick forum search could not find the best of them. I know the major UK-facing sportsbooks default cookie lengths. A quick look via browser settings reveals them anyway. With regard the major bookmakers in the UK market, they are all good except: Boylesports and Paddy Power (both have defaults of a session cookie) and William Hill is just 72 hours.
Personally I reckon a session cookie could lose you at least 50% of referrals versus a 30-day cookie. There are some online shopping surveys that demonstrate maybe half of browsers go away and think about it before committing to their purchase. I would think that might be similar for registering with a bookmaker. Hence a program's cookie length is arguably a crucial consideration for affiliates. No point getting 30% rev share on a session cookie program as the real rate of rev share might be 15% if you are losing half your referrals versus a 30-day cookie program.
When you consider how many clicks it takes to get a conversion for casino, even 30 days can seem harsh. It's definitely one of the most important considerations.
Betfair Affiliates have a 45 day cookie window.
Interesting article, whilst it's not based on gambling, trust me when I say the customer behaviour is similar when it comes to sportsbook - http://wiki.affiliatewindow.com/inde..._Really_Needed
to be honest I'm more interested in the read cookie function than the write cookie function.
Please could you elaborate on what you mean by this? It's not something I've heard referenced before. Thanks!Quote:

They may also bookmark the casino to return later or click any one of the social media icons and leave the casino entirely, in any of the above scenarios I would think the cookie must be read to credit the referring affiliate.
I misinterpreted your initial post - I thought that you were implying the read function also could have a duration set.Quote:

Our cookies last 28 days, the player then belongs to the last refering affiliate.
Our cookies are stored for 30 days.

thank you @blendtec. That is an awesome list! The problem is if someone uses a spyware program such as ccleaner that is immaterial
Cookie length directly correlates with how well/poorly I do with each bookie.
And it's the reason I no longer promote paddy power, a single session cookie is completely absurd and no doubt cost affiliates a lot of sales.Quote:
