I ask this out of pure curiosity.
Do they get bonuses when affiliates generate more revenue?
Do they get paid more for reaching quotas?
Are they just hourly or salary based employees?
I guess I'm asking because I don't understand when some companies make ridiculous rules and/or quotas why it isn't the affiliate teams fighting the decisions to upper management.

"Upper management" (or partners / owners as is often more likely in online gambling companies) set up their systems and they really do not want to be receiving daily "fights" from employeed staff about the rules.
Of course - in a good structure there is always some scope for periodic review and discussion with these decision makers, perhaps monthly, quarterly or annually - but certainly not on a daily basis.
The rules and processes are established and put in place, and in 99.9% of cases the staff are expected to enforce them as part of their job. Supervisors might have some small ability to make small dispensations or deals - but by-and-large the company rules are there to be followed not fought.
I know that some affiliate managers do get bonuses for reaching quotas. I personally am just a salary based employee so it really depends on the individual company
I tend not to look at my bank account - it's like your potential, you always have a lot less than you think.

Like Gemma I am a salary based employee but the good thing is that we are well rewarded according to our performance.
In the end, it all comes down to providing a top notch service to our affiliates who in turn show their appreciation by working harder for our brands and as this brings us more players, we receive the recognition we deserve.

I'm also a salary based employee, but like Amy, our company rewards every employee based on their performance during the year with a bonus and salary increase (if they are deserving).
Sometimes when I'm paying affiliates and seeing what they're making I wish I was getting paid a commission.. but I think I probably do my job better without it.
baldidiot - I believe the aff managers who are cold calling you 5 times a day are probably the ones who are working from commission.
