I now spend an hour and a half on social media on average, but a while ago I used to spend at least two hours a day with fewer results.Quote:

I have to agree with you on this point, I find that spending too much time on trying to dominate the social media space, resulted in me wasting a lot of time. Once I changed my strategy to focus on more effective tasks that I actually had a bit more control over, my overall numbers increased.
At least 1 to 2 hours daily...maybe less at the weekend, it depends if I am enjoying my weekend or geeking out on the internet. If I am at home though rest assured I will have Facebook open. the 1 to 2 hours daily includes visits to Facebook from my mobile too.

When you spend much time on SMM you have a significant boost. If you are doing it just to have a social footprint then you get social footprint only. The biggest problem is that you cannot do it all yourself, and, besides, it takes a heap of time!
If you have enough budget consider hiring a Social media marketer. And keep in mind one thing - if you decide to run you social media for serious you will need to create lots of unique content too.
It is interesting to see this thread resurfacing and my reply from 2022. In less than three years, I’ve reduced the time from about an hour and a half to just a half. That said, I now spend more time answering emails and private messages on different platforms.
