Star Partner GPWA Sponsorship Suspension

We have notified Star Partner earlier today that their status as a GPWA sponsor has been suspended.

This is an action we have taken for a variety of reasons documented in various threads within their forum.

Our plan is to continue to work with Star Partners behind the scenes to try to resolve outstanding issues in the interest of the affiliates that have partnered with them.

With that objective, we will allow continued activity in the Star Partner forum, hoping the discussions in that forum will facilitate a positive resolution of outstanding issues.

The damage has already been done : our referred players have been stolen thru cross promoting player emails sent by SP.

We will never get them back although SP wants to believe us they stopped playing.

So my question is how can you possible solve this ?

IMO this program should never be granted a come back or will it be "please welcome Starpartner our newest GPWA gold sponsor ? " soon ?

We will never trust Grandprive again so why would this be any different ?

What you have indicated is that you don't see how Star Partner can fix the situation in a fashion that webmasters collectively would agree was appropriate. I agree that you could very well be correct that will not happen. But the liklihood that it will happen does not matter in terms of our trying to make it happen. Part of the role of the GPWA is to make sure programs understand the consequences of their actions in terms of how they are perceived by webmasters. Beyond that I don't presume a specific outcome in terms of what actions a program will take and whether those actions will make a significant difference in webmaster opinion.

At this moment in time all my affiliate managers have left SP the last few months............. is there anyone who wears the helm at Starpartner to answer questions raised a few days ago?

With regard to all those layoffs lately is there something happening with them because I get a creepy feeling about this?

Is there any update on the progression with Star Partner as I've been contacted by our "new" affiliate manager today?

Bryan Bailey and I had a very positive discussion with Star Partner at the Budapest Affiliate Conference.

I have just posted a summary of that discussion and the letter I received from Star Partner summarizing the actions they plan to take in the following thread in the private GPWA forums for feedback from private members:

Cross Marketing Practices Discussion with Star Partner.

Once the discussion in the private members area has concluded, and Star Partner has been provided with feedback by me on their proposal based on member input, a formal announcement of the planned changes will be made.

Star Partner has made it clear that their desire is to resolve the various issues that have been raised in such a fashion that the GPWA community collectively agrees that it is appropriate for their status as a sponsor here to be restored.

My view is that such a decision will be made by the GPWA community based on the community's view of the actions taken. If and when there appears to be support for such a step, GPWA private members will be polled to obtain their view.

Once I have some more years of experience under my belt and full time dedication sure but for now I am good with the current membership, sorry if this sounds "cheap" but I have to factor in personal obligations (not forum related).

Hi Everyone,

Firstly, I would like to stress that we have always prized ourselves on our integrity and honesty. Our affiliates are enormously important to us and we hold them in the highest regard, so much so that we went and voluntarily got ourselves certified by eCogra. :)

We take all issues that arise from our affiliates and examine them extremely closely to ensure we come up with a proper solution.
The issue at hand is that there have been complaints recently that group mailers for newsletter; loyalty etc could have had a remote chance that a player would join another casino.

This arises from us having 88 casinos across our brands and languages making it impossible to create 88 mail shots for every newsletter when we release new games monthly. So as a result we send group newsletters per language with links to each casino in our group. I can assure you that this is no different for all groups that have multiple brands and languages

Anyhow we have investigated and discussed this in great detail and after consulting with many different parties we have decided to set the bar and have come up with the following solution.

Plan for all mails going forward:

All group mails for loyalty; newsletters etc from now on will be tagged.
If a player downloads another casino from these mailers, the player will be mapped to the tag where the player last played at a Vegas Partner Lounge casino.

By doing this you can be certain that if a player came through an affiliate and ends up joining another brand through any of our loyalty/newsletter mailers, that original affiliate will be credited for that player in the new brand too.

There were other options discussed (i.e., first casino played at, casino most played at or casino last played at).
After much consulting internally as well as externally it has been agreed that this is the fairest solution.

Further to this we are going make right on any untagged players.
If a player was playing at a VPL casino, prior to the player joining a new VPL casino, this player will be allocated to the tag of the last casino played.
All historical earnings due to affiliates based on the outcome of this query will be settled at month end. :)

In closing I would like to reiterate that Star Partner values our affiliates enormously and we strive to be a cut above all the other affiliate programs.
We will go to any distance to ensure that our affiliates are satisfied with the integrity, quality and support of our program.
