My time being an active member at GPWA has come to an end, it is simply said not what I am looking for anymore regarding how issues with affiliate programs are being dealt with.
I wish you all the best in your endaveours.

I share your thoughts. I am disillusioned over the rise with constantly being robbed. Something needs to be done ASAP. Some programs are way out of hand.
I am busy collecting data...

I agree there is a slew of complaints! There seems to be more lately? Not sure.
A break is recommended but don't give up. If we don't speak up, there is no awareness.

I think this is clearly becoming a pay to play playground with very little oversight.
The obvious question - should affiliates continue to support a cash cow that isn't nurturing the herd?

I just can not waste more time reporting issues on a forum that do not get answered or lack being solved.I think this is clearly becoming a pay to play playground with very little oversight. The obvious question - should affiliates continue to support a cash cow that isn't nurturing the herd?

e.g. starpartner lots of issues no replies : I know they read it but do not reply if not forced to. Besides that I am on non speaking terms with them as I understand from being blocked on msn.
All of this and more has made me decide to leave.
Hi. Try choosing only 2-3 good programs to work with (and who will support you).
The comments by members about specific programs here are important and they do make a difference. They both help create visibility to other webmaster about issues and they do influence whether we choose to continue sponsorship relationships or not.
I just want to copy here a post I made in the thread Starpartner issues regarding Star Partners.

I dont have the numbers but I would guess that more than 50% of the sponsors here are not active, thus they offer no benefit to the community.
I have pushed for sites like this to require sponsors to maintain an active role in the community, but the sites dont require that likely because it would decrease their earnings.
I agree with Alex pick some good programs and work closely with them. Do not get carried away and start signing up to lots.
Then please do stick around and help things to improve. Before I sign up to any new program I have a number of things I do and check including searching this forum ( and also affiliate guard dog) for posts about the program if I can see unresolved issues I don't join.
If you are usure which programs to promote send me a pm with your websites and I will gladly recommend you some good ones.![]()

I don't know your specific problem but I can feel your frustration. Being new to this business I have found that Affs and their managers are really friendly when it comes to signing you up and they promise you the world. Unfortunatelly, some tend to forget about you after the honeymoon is over

I agree and disagree with some points. An advantage to a forum like this is that if an affilate program does bad business, only by getting the word out can WE really affect them. Bad presss can be pretty detrimental to any business. With that said, when there is a problem we need to act quickly to get the word out so new affiliates do not promote that brand and hopefully everyone will pull the plug on that particular program.
I do agree that forums like these do need to "police" the programs a little better. I have had problems with Chipleader in the past and have never gotten resolution through this forum after posting several times asking for resolution. Actually I didnt even get a reply. I do have a problem with someone being advertised as "partner" and their status based on how much they are willing to pay to be considered as such. If someone is a "gold" sponser, they should not only have to pay more than the "silver" sponser, but also be more active!

I think this is a wonderful forum, It makes me very sad to think that people are turning away because of some bad apples, there are certainly still many legitimate, caring members participating.
I know as an affiliate manager, I find this forum a source of information, a place to network, and a resource to share information.
I hope that those members that are ruining it for the rest of us, will be weeded out. If you stick around and keep posting your complaints, it can only help to improve things.

I think it is the same story all over again : programs avoid questions in a comfortable way but still are allowed to be sponsors here.
Getting sick and tired of it.

Not only that, but questionable programs can go ahead and $buy$ a booth at a conference to recruit new affs when they cannot take care of things here at home first. We allow them to aquire more 'victims'.
It's almost criminal.
What's wrong with this picture?
To be fair, I think that if these questions aren't answered quickly, the GPWA will have no choice but to remove the sponsorship. I believe the GPWA is fair in that way but nothing is done quickly and without thought.
I agree with both of you, these kind of threats really make me angry, it is like a few bad programs dont pay or steals and then we all get put into the group of dodgy companies.
It is like anything in life you need to research the people you are going to work with dont take other peoples word or the fact that they have paid to be a platinum sponsor, this is your business you are in control of who you work with and what you do with that partners, you wouldnt buy a hiuse just from a picture would you?
We all know of bad companies in this business and they will not go away, I would look at these forums as a place to inform others as to what is going on with them.
It is sad if people leave but the GPWA is a business they need to pay bills and as they have said in the sponsiorship is paid for.
Good luck.

You are still banging on about this one, come on IGB is simply providing an events service they are not vetting companies and to be honest as i have said in the past i hope they never do because if they do the price will go sky high and it will stop good honest companies like mine attending.
I do think GPWA has taken on some very weird sponsors many of them shoudl not be part of this Association but hei money talks....

Yes banging on you have been talking about the same thing for about 1 year.
As for honest companies you can research us, we have been around since 2002 and I am sure youwill not find a complaint from a player or affiliate on the net, but at the same thing can be said for affiliates, we reserach who we work with we decline a lot of sites that apply to work with us.
