Ladbrokes Affiliates - Terms and Conditions - Six Month Rule

    Hi,

I received the following email five days ago but can not even find said clause in their terms.

    https://www.ladbrokes.com/aff_man?ac..._termsandconds

    Dear Affiliate,

Unfortunately over the last 6 months you have not received the minimum number of new active registrations required to remain an active participant of the Ladbrokes Affiliate Program.

As per our Terms and Conditions, we have therefore retired your account and you will no longer be able to log in to the Ladbrokes Affiliate Program website.

If you have been having problems, or there are any particular reasons for this lack activity, please feel free to email us on affiliatequeries@ladbrokes.co.uk and we will try to help as much as possible.

We wish you all the success for the future.

    Kind regards,

    The Ladbrokes Affiliate Team

When did they add this? I emailed them but did not get any response so far. Thanks.

Some new affiliates would find this rather disturbing. In many cases it takes more then 6 months to send a player to any casino while a website is getting off the ground. While I am not a big promoter of Ladbrokes I do find it funny that my affiliate account remains open for past 2 years without sending them a single new player.

Are they serious? I am not sure what is happening over there as of late but that is BS they are doing that to you. They cannot seem to answer emails, pay affiliates but they can close off accounts with no issue!

I am going to get the manager over here to see this thread.

I actually haven't sent them players in more amount of time than that, but haven't received any letter. Perhaps I can schedule a meeting with them in Barcelona and ask from everyone's behalf about these terms.

While I do not agree with what Ladbrokes have done in this particular incident (although none of us know the details) I can say that they have always been very responsive to emails that I've sent.

We're coming off a bank holiday weekend in the UK which may explain why email replies are slow.

From a player stand point, Ladbrokes are one of the top 5 gambling brands on the Internet with a far superior service to practically all of their competition. I firmly believe that you should do your site visitors justice by recommending them to sites that truely give them the best service and this is what Ladbrokes provide and no one can argue with that.

They run a good casino, sportsbook, bingo etc, but they run a very bad affiliate program Yes, they are responding to e-mails, everything is normal with this but I don't like their cross promotions, this is totally unacceptable, and they don't care about it. And this six month rule is also unacceptable BTW.

They've just closed my account. I assume it's for this same reason.

Do they have a stand in Barcelona? I'm going to camp out on it and embarrass the hell out of these SOBs. They won't reply to any of the emails I've sent.

I've just had an account closed as well. Was in the process of moving them into some better slots too! Guess it's time to re-evaluate.

    Hi Guys,

With regards to our deactivation of inactive affiliates, please refer to section 12.4 in our terms and conditions.

As indicated in the email we sent out last week, if you would like to begin to actively promote Ladbrokes again please get in touch with the team via affiliatequeries[at]ladbrokes.co.uk to discuss opportunities.

Alternatively, we will be in Barcelona for the IGB Conference on the 9th and 10th September, and we would be more than happy to meet you there.

    Regards, Andrew

Andrew, honestly, I guess many of us want to actively promote Ladbrokes but we can not, because we don't want to lose about 20-40% of players because of your cross-promotions.

And, please believe me, this "6 month term" will not help your company to motivate us to promote you in any case And definitely will not help your company's reputation.

There is a reason why I stated that I could not find that clause in Ladbrokes' terms (used the search function of my browser).

12.4 If you do not deliver 1 new customer registration within a period of three months (billed months) we may terminate this Agreement immediately by delivery of written notice to you.

So is it three months or six months?

Secondly, a response has been sent to affiliatequeries[at]ladbrokes.co.uk one week ago. No reply.

All I still want to know is how to get my remaining commissions. Andrew, can you elaborate?

Thank you all for your help and comments.

Here's the ridiculous thing: I want to have Ladbrokes, as I want to have the most stable casinos on my site. Ladbrokes is one. I cannot, because they apparently don't want me too. So I cannot tell my customers, to whom I make a point of offering the best casinos, about the best casinos. That's how idiotic this is.

And not only that. They do not 1) send an email notification, OR 2) respond when you send THEM a request for clarification.

What is the point of having a "best" casino, if you lose exposure on account of this asinine behaviour? You're basically handing the exposure YOU should have to lesser, less reputable casinos which are more likely to be problematic to players but offer affiliates terms which make them promotable, so they promote them.

And what is the earthly justification for closing an account? It costs you NOTHING but space on a spreadsheet for automatic email updates. There is no man time involved or any other costs. You lose nothing by keeping all accounts active. It can therefore only be about shaving commissions.

Reputable casinos who behave disreputably to SOME customers are disreputable.

    See you in Barcelona.

    Hi again,

Our terms and conditions state three months, however in this case we have been monitoring the situation over an extended six month period. In terms of getting your remaining commissions, please email affiliatepayments[at]Ladbrokes.co.uk with your username and we will settle your account.

    Regards, Andrew

I agree that keeping affiliates, whether they send a steady stream of new players or not costs them NOTHING, but the lack of having those hundreds, if not thousands of affiliates can and WILL cost them in the long run.

Ladbrokes does NOT want small affiliates and therefore will lose branding....

This policy therefore makes Ladbrokes NOT small affiliate friendly.

Small affiliate = Unable to sustain one depositing player in SIX months?
    It's hardly an onerous demand.

    Hey Paul,

The point I see is that you should get paid for the lifetime revshare of the players we send to any program.

Quotas to cut off earnigs are just bad and closing accounts isn't helping any affilliates.

I understand that point Joe ... but ONE signup in 183 days? If an affiliate is not generating that then the affiliate is not promoting the program adequately.

I understand the conflict with the headline term of "lifetime rev-share" ... but that's a regular feature of all advertising ... and the small print of clause 12.4 has been there for a long while. It's not hidden and it's not too high a mountain for any active affiliate to climb (if they are actively promoting the program).

Additonally I suspect that if an affiliate failed to achieve that small target (ONE signup) and yet could show via banner impressions and clicks that they were actively promoting Ladbrokes to the AM then there would some discretion shown ...

Attempting to beat up quality gaming destinations and affiliate programs like Ladbrokes over things like this is ridiculous ...
Ladbrokes are running a good business and do provide stability, timely payments and reasonable support.
