International search results

Do people say for instance the UK, generaly seach the entire web or from UK sites only? How do you get your sites to show up in both . They're both english so how do they determain the difference? Do you need to submit your domain url to both sites? The same goes for any country.

Most people in the UK search www.google.co.uk (by default most UK residents will automatically be redirected to google.co.uk if they type in google.com).

Once on google.co.uk almost all (can't be bothered to find a stat to back this up) will search with the default settings. This means they are:

- Not signed in
- Web history enabled
- Searching for all sites (i.e. not just those from the UK)

But... even when not searching just sites from the UK, any google.co.uk search produces results different to those on google.com (they are focused on the UK regardless).
