Default 100 most popular movies of the 80s - how many have you seen?

The 1980s: probably not the most critically revered period in film history, but then, what do critics know?

This was the decade that gave us Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Predator, The Breakfast Club, Rocky IV, and dozens other gems that bring a warm, nostalgic glow at their very mention.

Below is a list of the 100 most popular movies released during the 1980s, as determined by IMDB. But how many have you seen?

The decade that gave us Dead Poets Society AND Chevy Chase AND Bruce Willis. Plus there's Rocky, Rambo, Police Academy, Star Wars...first five Star Trek movies...Indiana Jones...Back to the Future.

My only objection is that the pop culture was a bit childish back then compared to the realism and HD of today. Everyone had a costume, everything was cool, they were all comic book characters on big screen, not real people.

I actually just saw ET for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Didn't think much of it but would probably love it as an 8 year old kid.

I've watched 88 of them. I didn't realise "This is Spinal Tap" was made in the 80's, as that means I watched it for the first time some 20 years after.

I've only seen 67 of them. Mind you, I was born in the early 80s so maybe that's why.

36 - and in going through that list there were not many I wanted to add.
I've seen most of the sci-fi, Rocky, Die Hard, and of course Back to the Future.

I will admit to have seen bits of other movies on TV but I decided it did not count if I watched less than 15 minutes before calling "crap".

Horror, coming of age, waffle and American "comedy" leave me cold ...
And there were only 3 Star Wars films - the prequels were the deranged musings of a damaged mind.

52, although I must have seen Predator 30+ times - one of those films that if I'm flicking through channels looking for something to watch and I find that it's on then that's me done until it's finished

For this same reason I have seen "Taken" at least 20 times at my parents house. My dad loves the movie, so if it's even half way through when he is flicking he will watch it again, and again, and again.

@Miles_FTA that is Larvell (played by Michael Winslow). His voices were the funniest part.

I've seen 85 and clearly don't watch horror movies.

    I only managed a paltry 35.

The 80's and 90's were great though - weren't they? Movies and music were so much better back then. Maybe it's just me but there were so many more memorable artists/songs/movies, etc, from back then than there has been in the past 10 to 15 years.

    Maybe I'm just old.

Wow, so much memories! =) It was probably one of the best decades for movie industry (or it's just our generation that think so)

I worked on three: I was on the Blues Brothers with Universal Studio.

Untouchables with Paramount and Coming to America with Paramount.

I didnt see many, but I did see the Karate Kid over and over with my kids. AHHHHHHHH Daniel-son! The 80's had some classic movies.
