GPWA Times Mailing Issues (Opened)

I was recently talking to GPWA Nancy and Anthony regarding mail issues and not getting the magazine the last couple issues. Anthony was kind enough to mail me a few back issues or get someone to do so.

Then GPWA Nancy went ahead an mailed me both a shirt and magazine together and confirmed they were both in a sealed envelope!

Well first off the previous issues were not received. For some reason on a couple of occasions the magazines did not appear.

This last delivery I received the shirt in the package (package was tampered with) alone. No magazine with inserted in the envelope! So I emailed Nancy. She informed me that indeed it was very strange since she made sure everything was together.

Just yesterday or the day before I then received the magazine! However the magazine was not in a package at all - just the magazine only with no return to sender label, only had my name and address - no postage nothing.

Both Nancy and I came to the conclusion it was stopped at customs and opened. They for some reason held the magazine back for a day and sent it alone un-eveloped!!

Is there any reason for them to do this? I find this really odd. Do not know if it was from the Canadian Side or the American side - just cannot figure this out.

Anyone else experience this - specifically from Canada?

Kind of feels creepy my mail is being opened and read and they decide if I get it. The last 2-3 attempts to get a magazine to me have not been received. Have this weird feeling they are stopping anything gambling related!

Its getting weird! any ideas?

I also got the latest mag with just a label with my details on it but I found it amazing as the mag was in great condition so mentioned this to Mr Corfman at G2E as I was interested I what mailing company they were using to do this as it was very clever but he didn't know, but did say they had changed recently....maybe the mag was the actual membership copy but it had just taken time and with t shirt copy it had literally just fallen out as it's weight and driven through the envelope????

You may be right on the membership one. Its possible that it did take this long.

The shirt and mag together is still the interesting part. Enveloped was sealed - nothing could of falling out. It did look though like it was opened and resealed though. Mind you that's hard to really tell. Unless of course the shirt was put in the envelope separate. But I asked Nancy about that and she was sure they where together in same package.

Will be interesting to see if i get some more stuff in the mail over time

I also would like to know if anyone has been having problems receiving the magazine from Canada or any other country, if it looks like it's been tampered with when it does arrive or if it is not arriving at all and the mailing address information is correct.

In this instance, the t-shirt and magazine were mailed directly from Casino City via USPS (Priority Mail). The mailing company was not involved in this mailing. We recently (September) changed mailing companies.

Casino City directly mails magazines to the U.S. and single-issues to Canada. The mailing company is used for all foreign mailings including bulk mailings (more than one magazine or mag/t-shirt together) to Canada.

We did inquire with the mailing service we use and the response was:

We received confirmation back from Canada Post that there are no restrictions to deliver a publication containing information and articles relating to the gambling/casino industry. It is also not a customs issue. Theft certainly could be happening somewhere along the way. Let me know if any of these issues persist. We will certainly help if we can.

From this point forward, the mailing company will now be sending the magazine in an opaque wrapping so the content of the magazine is not viewable.

Well lets see how future issues get here

I was more concerned with the package being opened, I started to think its more directed at me personally... lol
