WordPress Speed Specialist needed

Got a WP-site and no matter what I do (coding or plugin wise) it keeps loading dead slow. Looked into myself and am exhausted of options so I am looking for a specialist who works on making WP sites lightning fast.

Is this still an ongoing problem? If so, kindly share some details about plugins that you use. Also keep in mind that wordpress itself is already quite heavy...so if possible always try to avoid wordpress when you want to create lightning fast websites...

Here are couple of steps we usually take to fix site speed issues along with security of the site.
Few free tools to check the issues and bottlenecks:
Google site speed test: Analyze the issues highlighted. If it is hosting issues, image optimization, multiple js loaded or unused css adding load time.
There are some plugins that may be useful to fix few issues but all issues can't be fixed by plugins .
Check Gtmetrix report to check any bugs, check your error log (first make sure that error log is on) .
Apart from this W3 validation report couple be helpful too.
Try to use right cache plugin and CDN service that also helps speed up the site.
About security, test the site on sitecheck.sucuri.net for any virus and use security plugin or custom code in htaccess to block any unauthorized wp logins...
There are many other minor things like reduce the number of plugins, add ssl for security, keep updated with latest version of themes and plugins etc....
you can try these steps yourself and fix most issues..
