Default Straight from Mother Google Part 2

Well it seems I caused quite a stir around here a few days ago. It turns out, the person that p**sed me off wasn't even a GPWA member or participant like he claimed he was so to anyone that thought I was directing my anger at you I sincerely apologize.

Seems this SEO "wizard" that ruffled my feathers is some dweeb with a casino in a box program and I really don't think the guy is even licensed anywhere. I takes a lot to pull the pin on my grenade but when you do happen to get the right tug in, I can get..........a bit angry.

To all of you who suffered an increase in blood pressure I apologize

I will be having regular talks with my friends from IBM & Google and I will be glad to pass along any and all information I receive. I have two E books that were sent to me and have a lot of reading to do to sort out the information.

    Cheers

Personally, I think JC is trying to help. If he passes on information that could help than that's beneficial to all. Thank you JC. I think that a new fresh perspective is always welcome.

I remember when CasinoJack posted comments on SEO. The reception he received on his SEO experience wasn't welcomed as well as he liked and stopped posting about SEO. I for one, found it interesting.

Intentions good no doubt, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but sometimes people need to think before they post. I mean.. IBM? Ebooks? come on! And the thread titles are tilting, "straight from mother google" my ass.

    Default Seo

Over the past 58 years I have made friendships with many many people. Because of that I take the Henry Ford approach to problem solving and learning. If I don't know the answer to a question, I find someone that does know.

I was fortunate enough to be high school friends with a man that has gone on to "computer greatness" at IBM. He is very knowledgeable and he to has made in roads with a variety of people in the business. We stay in touch.

He is the one who has put me in touch with a person he knows at Google. I am fortunate to have friends like that and will continue to post what SEO information I receive that is relevant to this business. If you think it is "garbage"...............don't read it.

Thank you Adrian, I owe you a lobster diner when I get to Belize next year for the way I handled this situation. You certainly deserve it.

Granted I understand that some of the experiences that he has shared are not accepted by all, including myself. But as he said serious webmasters should at least understand what is going on all levels of the SEO community.

In Jack's case there were three different tools that he recommended that have literally saved me hundreds of hours in the last year. I did appreciate that.

So, while JC learnes the ropes of SEO he will undoubtedly discover many things that many of us already know and have shared with other webmasters. I am also sure that he will discover things that many do not already know as well. The dynamics of SEO is evolving quickly and older methods may not be enough to progress your seo endeavors.

Whenever I stumble on a new SEO quirk I share with GPWA members. My last one was the video sitemap with integrated video and how they possible affect SERP placements.

fully appreciate that- your post was v useful and I like how you roll. I especially liked that it was based on *facts* and first hand observations.

SEO is a science, not an art. people forget that everything in SEO should be based on numbers and figures and facts, rather than on "tips from grandma"..

SEO is a science, not an art.
I couldn't help thinking that science it may be, but since nobody actually has the golden goose formula, then isn't it fair to say that an artsie approach is as good as any other?

By that I mean since you don't know exactly what the ingredients are to make the meal, then (at least where I come from) ... they'd accept using the description of "its an art" as to meaning its a trial and error situation which since it is impossible to hit perfection, almost by that definition ... makes it something other than science.

Since us hicks have limited vocabs anway, ... art, would be an accepted description.

just an observation that struck me.

    ..........

To the newb: I've made more stupid posts, for a longer stretch of time, asking stupider questions than prob anybody currently here, and I still don't know anything.

But I know a lot more than I would have otherwise, if I'd been afraid to speak up and leap first, then look for the landing spot.

And it isn't all one sided either believe it or not. Sometimes my lack of knowledge helped uncover something that the others didn't see.

I think the thing is, is that if you're a newb, or just slow like myself, then it hurts your credibility to out of one side of the mouth to be asking newbie questions while out the other dropping names that surely are expected to turn heads.

not worded very well, especially the word credibility, but hopefully you see where I was trying to go with that.

Bottom line though, is always post. I've backed my way into catching some major stuff in my 10 yrs, and it would never have come to light if this ol' dummy hadn't brought it to the attention of the very smart folks that are the norm here.

And thing is ... is they'd never have seen it without the help of somebody who doesn't even usually get the terminology right.

I'd offer an example but can't think of one right now. sorry for that, I know it hurts my credibility lol. But I'm not so ego-driven that it is incentive to find one. So take it as truth or with a grain of salt. My ego doesn't care all that much about that either.

    * side note: if you search for the word "thingy" here, you are surely to get about 99% back in results being my posts .
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

Hey JCTroy - it's great that you're onboard and embracing your new online business with such endeavour.

However, as you gain experience in this industry, you will begin to realise just how much you did not even know that you did not know.

This whole field is like an onion - with many, many layers of complexity - and each month or two you get to unravel a new layer. I suggest that if you came back in a year or so and read this thread you might cringe at some of the DEFINATE assurances and statements you are giving.

I've been working in computers since 1982, and online since 1998, and each month I still learn new things and get exposed to new areas and ideas that shake previous "rock-solid" foundations. The only thing that is definate - is that there is nothing definate.

It's great the you have friends at IBM, and through that a contact at Google, but as well meaning as these friends are, it does NOT mean that they have the final word on this area. Not at all.

IBM are to the internet environment what a stone wheel is to a high performance car. By this I mean IBM created the PC standard in the 70's and 80's but failed to grasp it's significant outside it's corporate business and never EVER made a significant mark on the internet.

Additionally, your friend at Google might have useful knowledge, but there are many, many avenues to getting reliable knowledge from Google on search engine details - and many official Google spokes-people offering information online and in conferences.

I do not think that there is any one person at Google now that can clearly articulate the search engine algo as it combines many disparate calculations and nuances.

Indeed Google has grown so big that it has many thousands of employees and contractors, and most of them have NOTHING to do with the search engine space ... but of course these people will still have an opinion - the ego demands it - after all "they work at Google don't they?"

I guess all I am really saying is that it's great to have information - and it's good that you wish to share it - but be prepared for the fact that there is plenty of OTHER good information out there and so much going on beyond what you are thinking about yet.

Share and enjoy - but always keep a flexible approach and an open mind - because you'll need it to adapt in this game.

    Good luck mate

    Default TheGooner is right

I am by no means an expert at SEO nor do I claim to be one. I am irritated in the amount of ambiguity and contradictory "facts" I see in here and other casino forums.

I am curious enough to search for the answers and sometimes I am like a bull in the china closet and I tend to tread a bit too deep.

A year from now I am sure I will be laughing at my own posts and opinions. I learn something new every day and realize that what I said yesterday may not valid today. That's life and I accept it..

My first 32 passes down the race track as a top fuel mechanic in 1973 resulted in considerable loss in generous quantities of once were perfectly good pistons. An old timer pulled me off the the side and told me one simple change in the tune up and the problem went away. It was REALLY simple. DUH

We have two ears and one mouth because we are supposed to listen twice as much as we talk. I violate that rule almost every day.

Thanks for the advise and keep it coming. SEO changes by the minute and I am intrigued by it. Some members think I am a crack pot (sometimes I am lol) and to those narrow minded folks, I apologize for them and their lack of character. (and sense of humor)

I'm not a big shot, just a little shot that keeps shooting
