we want to share what we believe is the worst affiliate program out there in terms of dishonest practices to steal your commissions.
this happened from the last 2 years (from when they hired the new head of affiliates Stephen and his new team) and they completely destroyed what we believed was a good operator to invest with, just 3-4 years ago.

we work in media buying and we slowly built a database of players in order to have a benefit in the long term with the "revenue share" - exactly the long term here is something completely interpreted in their favour and used to steal your commissions.

This affiliate program has already shady practices:

1. ~30% admin fee applied between GGR and NGR (or more)
2. they completely stop paying you if you are "not active for 3 months", with no explanation what means "active". it will applied on their favour again when needed and with arbitrary formula
3. they pay you with the worst change Naira-->Dollar (sometimes 1/3 more expensive than every change you can find online). Still in their favour of course
4. most probably un-tagging good players from our database
5. and now the best part - their revenue share deal will apply for 2 years maximum. with the complicity of RavenTrack (the affiliate software they use) they are now calculating the revenue share in a way impossible to verify since they hide your data. We literally moved from thousands of Dollars in commissions per month, to less than couple of hundreds $. All our investments in the bin.

we want to share this story in order to make everyone aware of these dishonest practices.

We are extremely pissed off and after years of building/investing and spending (we work in media buying) these people wake up in the morning and invent new rules/practices in order to steal money to their partners.

we are completely shocked of what happens - after stopping betsson affiliate program, this bet9ja affiliate program has now the gold medal in the art of stealing commissions and inventing predatory clauses.

These are the same bunch of people that proclaimed themselves like (their words) "we are committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in our affiliate program - Simply ridiculous.

Here their email:

Dear Partner,

We would like to inform you of an upcoming update to our commission structure, scheduled to take effect at the beginning of May.

Following a detailed review of our performance data and player lifecycle trends, we will be introducing a 24-month cap on revenue share earnings. From the implementation date, revenue share will be payable for a maximum of 24 months from the date a referred player registers, and will be applied to all tagged players, new or historic.

This decision is fully data-driven. Our analysis shows that the majority of player value is generated early in the lifecycle, with the first three months typically delivering the strongest returns. In the vast majority of cases, player revenue declines significantly after 18 months. A 24-month cap therefore allows our affiliates to capture the majority of meaningful value from their referred players.

At the same time, we have observed that a growing share of long-term revenue is linked to legacy players acquired years ago. While these players remain valuable, their continued activity is largely sustained through ongoing CRM and VIP engagement efforts on our side.
As new player acquisition levels fluctuate, this dynamic can create an imbalance where historic performance outweighs current acquisition activity.

Our objective with this change is to maintain a sustainable partnership model that prioritizes consistent new player acquisition and player value growth, ensuring the continued strength and replenishment of the Bet9ja player base.

We also want to emphasize that this type of structure is not a novel approach but is increasingly becoming standard practice across the industry. As market conditions evolve and competition intensifies, many operators are adopting similar models to maintain long-term sustainability and competitiveness.

The most funny part is that their data show that revenue in the first 2 years they “capture” the most of the player value…when our data shows exactly the opposite. Note sure on which BI agent the rely on…again, simply ridiculous.
