What's the deal with programs these days

This is my second post like this, I think, but slightly different...

I'm used to signing up for a program with a stated revshare and then when I show them I have good traffic, possibly renegotiating for a higher revshare agreement. These days it seems more like this:

1. Sign up for a program
2. Nothing happens, sometimes you are accepted and get a response, most of the time no response
3. If you are accepted, there are no banners, links, anything
4. Managers contact you on Telegram (or Teams, probably) and try to negotiate something that they aren't clear on
5. Eventually they might give you links in the Telegram chat and then you have to beg for them in the actual affiliate interface

It's damn weird. I'm going through that right now with a prominent program and I really don't like it. Just let me sign up. Let me get materials. Why not? What is the reason you would stifle affiliates like this?

I only sign up aff's that come to me, and its still a I have no idea what we have for fee's let me ask..

I ask that question every time as well - they do not seem to know most of the time.

Currently it seems tricky. Web seems full of UA teenagers who got hired by some agency with exactly same knowledge ... ZERO.
They have never seen a banner, nor have an idea what a lander, a postback pixel or a svg file is.
They give some monopoly money to "influencers"/"streamers" thats the job.

I do it differently, just appart of the fact that i do work actually with less than 10 operators during the last 10 years.
Give it some time. You dont need more than 3-5 to start/setup properly.
If they come (and they come), ask them for a brand bible/book and every detail you need to promote UPFRONT

Try to establish the same for your brand ... kind of a media kit ... but more a sales letter if you dont have that traffic.
Include some small listing fee ("I can skip that for you if we got the deal we are looking for .... ")
Dont low-balling to much (they try to cheat us all day), ... be bold, be a brand they cant effort to miss ...

yes, its true. there is less of that sign up, confirm email and get going.
it differs between markets but in general its as you said. and indeed less prompt and smooth.

p.s. actually, many times even programs that contact me and i get back saying lets try, it becomes an ongoing ping pong of questions and requests, which is funny (and annoying).

This is what I am doing currently. I only work with a handful of operators, many I've worked with for a very long time. My site is slots-based, so I do not feel it is necessary to have 100's of affiliate programs to manage. If I were a casino review site, yes... a bonus site, maybe.

I appreciate the advice. I do think I am trying to do some of the branding. While I do not have a media kit, I do show them my API so that they can see how another program is promoted. I have had some contact me. Generally, though, it ends up being 'networks' or something like that instead of a real program. But no matter who it is - it is a long back and forth.

ok, good It did work before I pasted it so I was a little confused for a sec!

This is a real problem and a real thorn in my side. Far too often I do not hear from the program. Often I will get a reply to a signup that was over 2 years old. Many programs will approve the account however no links and no contact information to reach an AM for help. Cellxpert programs may be approved, there are links however no deal associated with them so you are sending traffic thinking everything is setup properly.

I have just gone through all Cellxpert programs that don'y have deals associated to the links an redirecting to other programs.

All other programs that I am registering with are also now being redirected to other programs until the account is approved and with appropriate links.

I have become more upfront with AM's and letting them know I am redirecting traffic - it seems to be getting their attention.

I find this whole area of operator affiliate management has gotten very unprofessional really needs a shakeup.

There is another issue that is becoming a bigger problem. If programs have not set-up their software properly you will get only a message from the software and not the affiliate program. This is happening more with Cellxpert programs lately where you will only receive the email from no-reply@cxnotifications.com and no reference to the program. Also happens with Income Access but seems to be much better.
