Default Kindred Affiliates deactivating marketing source IDs

Recently we noticed that some of our Unibet tracking links gave an error message on a blank page. We reached out to the Kindred Affiliates team who told us that marketing source IDs that are inactive for 120 days are automatically made inactive. Apparently so they dont slow down the system.

Sounds quite strange that a large operator would care about an affiliate having 50 or 80 active marketing source IDs - shouldn't mean a lot in the "big data" era. This means that we have to replace all tracking links on niche keywords / pages to a link that for sure will not de-activate. And worst part is of course that detailed tracking will not be possible for niche pages.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Mind boggling to me why an operator would ever make any type of link coming to their pages inactive for any reason, ever.

How are they defining inactive - no clicks or no sign ups?

What they fail to understand, affiliates use marketing source id's or campaigns or whatever the program wants to call them for their own tracking so they know when a specific page, brand or website etc performs.

Most, if they see a specific site start to perform better for an operator they will increase exposure on that site if it performs well, and of not they might try moving it to spots where it might be better.

Almost 100% of affiliate programs will claim they understand this point and claim they deactivated the links BECAUSE they do understand it.

As Mike said, the links should NEVER stop working, and if they need those database tables so badly that they would hurt affiliates, well then they must not want those affiliates. (not very small affiliate friendly)

Any program that is not small affiliate friendly is not affiliate friendly.

Totally agree. Especially because the players are sent to a blank page on "trickyrock.com" so it is very unlikely that the customer will find its way to Unibet after that. Its a lose/lose/lose situation for everyone.

"How are they defining inactive - no clicks or no sign ups?"

    They say:

"Marketing Sources that are not used (No Clicks or No Registration) in 120 days from creation date will be de-activated by NetRefer automatically."

So netrefer have this built into the system by the sounds of it... are there any other brands that use this?

That was my initial question. Do other operators have this approach? I have never heard about it before.

A dodgy operator would clearly keep sending the traffic to their website but players would be "untagged". In this case the player end up in the middle of nowhere which just makes it more strange.

Kindred are totally rogue and do not respect any agreements. Don't promote them.

Sadly, they are and they have a questionable history of misconduct with their partners.

Free traffic, why else. How many customers will go directly to the site for free. Pure parasites like all the big brands now.

If you are promoting these crooks then you can hardly complain when they steal from you. There have been plenty of complaints and warnings regarding these arseh0les in recent years.
