Problems with bet at home

Hello!

Me and my boyfriend have a big problems with bet-at-home.com. On Sunday (23.June 2013) we made our deposits (he from his account and me from mine) using the same laptop, but different IP-addresses. We read the terms & conditions so we know that one person can't use more then one and that's a reason why we decided to use 2 different IP-addresses. Well if you ask me we done everything ok. We placed our single bet on the same event. We made a deposit together around 400€ and won around 1300-1400€. Yesterday we tried to withdraw our money, but we found out that our accounts are locked.

I have send them an email and they told me that accounts are closed because we are involved in affiliate fraud and our accounts will remain locked and the fraud was reported to competent authorities.

I don't understand what is going on. Today I read something about affiliate programs and I see that is something like advertising. I remember that we opened our accounts through some other web page and not bet-at-home.com, so that means we have registered throw someones affiliate program?

We send them all of our documents to verify our accounts, but it doesn't help.

Can anyone please help me and explain to me what is going to fallow? I don't want to have problems with court of justice because of one bet (legal bet). We thought that we can trust online bookmarkers.

When you say you were using different ip addresses, how did you change the ip? We you at the same location using the same ISP?

Does your internet connection use a router (like a Linksys or Netgear etc type of router)?

I took a quick look at the terms, and I do not see the definition of multiple accounts defined by 2 users at the same address, but if you are using the same internety provider at a single address, you are "most likely" using the same public ip address whether you change the ip behind the router or not.

Thanks for you answer. We changed a location. We placed bets from bars with wireless connection, I guess that is not illegal?

I'm the most concerned about that the "fraud" was reported to competent authorities! and about my money. I don't really care for my betting account. I will never place my bets with them again anyway.

I am not sure what they meant with the term "affiliate fraud"....

If you or your boyfriend are signed up as an affiliate and theother is earning a commission based upon the betting activity of the other, then they do have a solid case, since I am sure that the affiliate terms state that family members or those from the same household benefitting from betting activity of the other.

They don't define this "reported to competent authorities" and I would like to know what they reported and exactly to who....

My boyfriend told me that he has an affiliate program at bet-at-home.com, on the IP address at his home where he studied this year and his roommate have affiliate program at betathome as well from the sam IP, but I'm not registered with him and he is not registered on his own affiliate program as well. Our betting accounts have no connections with this affiliate programs but somebody else, which we don't know.

I have asked them about that but the next answer was "supervisory body"/agency/organ (I don't know which is the right word - hope you understand).

I would like to know if they can take our money just like that? Or we will have to go on a court of something!?

Sorry, that you have to wait.
I do not know your laws.
My suggestion: Write to the contact person of Bet At Home, that they do pay attention to this topic.
As it stands, you have just been unlucky.
You were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
They can't refused to pay back your own money that was cashed in.
This is wrong.
Before it will be a bigger public story, give Bet At Home the chance to resolve a part of this pain.

Write and then we will see how the things are going on.

I think bet at home works on Malta laws. So I think Slovenia doesn't have anything with that.

I have asked them if they can tell me what they reported and exactly to who. But no exact answer. I think we will really have to get some help in public. Well the things are fresh, so I will wait some days to see what will happen.

It really looks like a wrong place at wrong time. I have asked today in many other bookmarkers and all told me that they would pay my money and close my account. They can't just take it, this is ridiculous.

As I'm not involved in all customer verification processes I would kindly ask you Matematika to send me in a pm you and your boyfriends customer details and it would be very helpful if you have some more information about the affiliate program of your boyfriends roommate.

Often, without knowing, the cookie of the affiliate partner is saved on your computer and you get connected to the affiliate account without clicking on the affiliate link just before registering your account. Regarding your explanations here it indicates that this could have happened in this case. And as there are parallels with the IP addresses regarding our verification department it is an indicator for a cashback trial.

However let's have a closer look together on this case and I'm sure we will find the right explanation!

Regarding your explanations here it indicates that this could have happened in this case.

this is a much more friendlier interpretation than

From bet-at-home they don't want to tell me more information. They just continue saying that I have been reported and they are investigating my situation.

This is a big difference.

If you charging somebody with a crime here in Germany, but he is innocent, and you know in the moment of charging somebody with a crime, that he is innocent, then you will punished with up to 5 years jail.

Then we should wait until a public response is coming in the next days.

I guess the things are not so serious that we have to talk about jail. They think we are connected in a fraud, and IF we are we didn't know for that. I will wait for their last decision and I will see what will happen.

Thank you very much for the detailed information to your case! I have seen your pm on Wednesday and tried to catch an explanation from our verification department regarding your user accounts. I also have contacted our affiliate verification colleagues to discuss the connected affiliate account. To have the complete overview it took some time and therefore the delayed reply - sorry for that.

However the situation is as follows regarding the affiliate fraud: Your boyfriends roommate was already involved in discussions before. He has registered as customer through another affiliate. This affiliate generated in total 2 customers in 1 day within 40 minutes, who placed the same bet, with the same IP address and the same email address scheme. The same procedure happened with his own affiliate account and you were the two customers, who registered similarly to the previous betting accounts on the other affiliate account. On specific requests from our side, the details of the marketing activities of the partners could not be cleared up. As a result these affiliate accounts are regarding our affiliate terms and conditions declared as affiliate fraud (article 4. Responsibilities and Obligations of the Partner i. 2.)

This is the background to the affiliate account, which effects in consequence also your connected user accounts. As far as I have talked to the customer verification department, they will once again discuss your questions about the deposit with you.

I hope I could clear up the situation and point out the affiliate background!
