Default Sportsbook, Superbook and Playersonly (Commission Account)

Did you guys get this email?

"We are writing to inform you of some important changes to the CommissionAccount.com affiliate program.
Beginning on Monday, August 8, 2011, Commission Account will no longer be accepting new player registrations.
All other aspects of the CommissionAccount.com website will continue to function as normal and all reporting of existing players will be updated as usual.

I just checked and did not get it.

I also logged in to see if they had sent the message as a system message and they had not.

Have you confirmed this directly with a rep?

No I didnt, but I will. I havent done well since the program cut off US players. Maybe this email was for affiliates who were not producing much anymore.

I just hope if this is confirmed that it doesnt trickle down to the other Domain Holding programs I promote. That will hurt me, I still do pretty well with the others.

What other sites do they own other than Sportsbook, Players Only and Superbook? Seems to me if this is true they will be looking to sell off their stable to the highest bidder in the future.

Very few books can and will survive in this industry without a successful affiliate program. I really can't think of any big ones, but could be wrong.

There is now a notice on their affiliate site so it is confirmed.

I agree that it will be very difficult for them to survive without affiliates promoting them.

As far as the other sites they own, I was talking about Domain Holdings not CommissionAccount. The problem is when big brother (sportsbook.com) makes a move the other DH sites seem to follow as was the case when Sportsbook.com stopped taking US players. Linesmaker.com, Hollywood.com, iWager.com, Sportsbetting.com, my sportsbook.com, and there are more. They are all owned by Domain Holding and they have different affilate programs.

From the email, my take is that the sportsbook itself is not taking ANY new sign ups, not just sign ups from affiliates. Some people seem to think they are closing the aff program, I think they are shutting down the entire sign up operation.

I agree with you bro. If they aren't taking any new signups period, than they obviously don't plan on being in business for long.

I think most(not all) of these USA accepting sites are owned by USA citizens who are probably scared of getting thrown in jail after what happened to Poker Stars. Therefore, they are trying to get out while they can and preserve their US assets and be able to continue to travel in and out of the US.

Because if the owners weren't US citizens or had no interest in traveling to the states than they simply wouldn't have to hide their identity and hide. I think most of these books are stopping their US accepting policies moreso because of the owners being scared than processing issues. Processing plays a part, but it's more to do with the other aspect in my opinion.

I'LL Tell you what I think is both strange and scary. That this move was made right before football season is starting up. I would have thought they would try for one more season, being it is weeks away.

Some of these sportsbook have to be money makers, you'd think some heavy hitters outside the US would pick a few up, but who knows.

Sportsbook.com (aka sportsbook.ag) is taking US players again, affiliates cutoff:

This should surprise nobody. I said it a few months ago on these forums that Sportsbook would be taking US players again by football season. There was just no doubt about it. However, having said that, I did not expect them to cutoff affiliates. That's bullshit.

On another note, I wonder how some of these USA-accepting sportsbooks that decide to rip-off affiliates and think they are teflon and can't be sued or touched because they are based offshore would feel about ripped-off affiliates hiring a private investigator to dig up information on the owners and also find out what USA assets(houses, bank accounts, cars, boats, etc...) they have so they can be sued in US court and have their assets taken and seized.

They want to play dirty with affiliates? So why shouldn't affiliates get revenge? You had best believe major players that own and operate some of these USA accepting sportsbooks that rip-off players an affiliates are USA citizens and that's why they stopped taking USA action over the summer so they could setup their new .ag and .eu domains plus setup new processing. However, if they own USA assets and a private investigator can find out what and where then it's a whole new ballgame.

I'm tired of seeing people ripped off. It might be time for affiliates to start getting some payback on these punks.

Sucks, Sucks, Sucks. wow, this sucks.

I have no idea if I am right or wrong on this, but I don't believe the owners are from the US. I think Domain Holdings is a cover name for the old Jassy brand which had a pretty bad reputation. Untill this BS, I never had a problem with them and I promoted the hell out of every one of their books I could find. Back to my point though, I thought the owners were from the UK. I guess anyone can be the owner on paper, while the real owners are outta site.

Like the old stardust casino in Vegas. The real owner was the Chicago Outfit, but on paper it was Allen Glick from the Argent Corperation.

All affiliates burned and treated like sh*t from these rip-off programs should'nt just simply take down all the banners and links. They will not care if you do that. However, what you should do if you haven't already is create a ROGUE LIST of SPORTSBOOKS page on your site and list these rip-off sportsbooks and bash the crap out of them. Warn all your traffic to not play with them and to cancel their accounts and pull their money out ASAP if they already have an account. Hit these bastards where it hurts with bad reviews, grades, etc...

These bastards do not care if all of us just strip down banners and links. We need to BASH THEM! Trust me, they will not like it when their brand is getting dragged thru the mud on a ton of sites especially right before football season.

Ya man, think about it. A lot of people signing up on websites for things nowadays are smart and do their homework. I don't even buy anything anymore unless I do a google search for reviews on that product or at the very least if it's being recommended by a site I trust.

Well, most all successfull affiliates have loyal visitors to their website. If they see a sportsbook getting BLACKLISTED and ROGUED then that's going to stick in their head and most likely cause them not to sign up with that book. Well, if enough affiliates start doing that then not only will those books lose traffic but they'll start to lose existing customers and new customers.

These books don't care when an affiliate stops promoting them. They figure they can make up the loss of traffic another way. However, they can't do nothing when a site decides to bash the sh*t out of them and warn people about their scam tactics. Hell, we send out weekly emails bashing sportsbooks on our ROGUE LIST every week just to make sure these rogue books stay in the minds of our loyal readers lol. Payback's a b*tch.

What if the sites really do well to their customers ?
but just screw affiliates side only?
Then it is not good to bad mouth them just because they treated affiliates badly.

Of course it is very common for such sites to be bad to both parties as well.

I recall Calvin Ayre himself recently saying that 5M profit was a bad sunday for bodog. When you think about it, the sportsbook.com guys have been around forever, and have a non competing agreement with Sportingbet meaning they cannot go to Europe now, so all in all, they just really stopped US, which is their only market. They have covered the market forever...and processing costs are way too risky and high anyways. Makes sense to stop for a while. And no, they are not ''bad'' to affiliates. They are saving our asses right now, because very obviously they will come back for own own goood, ie: they will be there for you soon, and still pay commissions. The people behind these operations are known to all, and they have very deep pockets. So don't be worried.
