Wow it's downright horrible today

Thousands and thousands of hacked pages surfaced badly today

Doctors, lawyers, fence company, Indian govt sites, restaurants, charity groups, kids schools, university sites, sites selling (_____) You stick the word in there.

The purple pages, the blue pages, the brown ones (best way to define the dark one with brown tables) as well as other custom built ones....all your favorite hacker pages are up today.

Many have changed the methods of getting the other pages seen and many now just link to each other by id# (or direct by name), and if the pretty links are enabled properly the redirect to the keyword-based-pages-casino-review/. The reason I call this out is they used to allow yoast, all-in-on etc to add the pages to the sitemap but many many hackers dropped that strategy.

The operators "COULD" help stop this but certainly will not and google has completely lost it.

After every single core update, they should have staff research gambling keywords to expose how to reduce this as long tails are a complete joke today for what I am seeing in the US data centers.

The UK is equally as bad. In some instances, even domain crowding on the hacked websites. It's been like it for at least a year, but since they announced the core, far worse.

Seeiing a lot of non related junk blogs with ai posts, lots of parasite pages i havent seen any major changes, feels like it is surfacing all the junk before it kicks in.. or maybe thats wishful thinking lol

There was noise about a lot of volatility over the weekend before this update was announced, there's been a suggestion more than once that Google actually start rolling out these updates way before they announce them - and by the same token they're finished before they confirm too.

Aside from some of the junk that you guys have mentioned, I haven't seen masses of movement yet outside of what you'd ordinarily expect on a day to day basis - yet.

I've noticed a lot of volatility over the weekend, especially on saturday when my main page rankings tanked. Now it's kind of back to normal, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed strong fluctuations over the weekend?

On another note the SERPs are still full of spam and IA cr*p...it seems those update now only target legit sites.

Overall, nothing has really changed in terms of traffic on the old sites, even though 30% of the backlinks dropped out of Google's index. However, the new blog site I recently launched got almost completely deindexed - only the homepage is still showing

not a good update so far.. even the top gambling sites have tanked.. im seeing massive amounts of garbage.. one click short ai generated posts on DA2 sites in the top 10.. mounds of parasite seo this looks like a repeat of 2023 on downgrading quality of search, here's the thing now when i search im pretty much chatgpt to find the answer it looks liek google is killing off search to push AI overviews but once you've used openAi and compared to gemini it's night and day.

Yeah we're seeing lots of growth in the lower ends of the serps. Sites that were nuked in the HCU popping back up in the page 2-5 range, so not back to how they were but looking much healthier than it has been.

Are these sites you've made changes on, or just left as they were?

I've also noticed sites that haven't appeared in the top 20 for 18 months or more starting to surface again.

Bit of a mix - some we changed, others we've done absolutely nothing on since the HCU.

As for what is happening, google will continue the work they begun couple of years ago, and eventually will move from the "keyword" to "intent". This is what we see, and this is what it may become using the AI capabilities they have
