Default Kahnawake and Antigua Form Online Gambling Pact

The Kahnawake Gaming Commission and the gambling regulator for the Caribbean islands of Antigua and Barbuda are to form a unique "inter-jurisdictional" alliance, the regulators said yesterday.
The formal pact, which is to come into effect in September, would facilitate licence holders being hosted on servers in either jurisdiction, said Murray Marshall, general counsel for the Kahnawake commission.

"Slick" move. Kahnawake's trying to circumvent the UK white list exclusion.

It's a very clever idea in theory, unfortunately according to the article:

The Kahnawake-Antigua memorandum of understanding announced yesterday would not allow Kahnawake's licence holders to advertise in Britain, Marshall said.

"Antigua's white list is only a benefit to Antigua's licensees," he said.

It really probably is more about geographical location of servers than white-or-not listing. The advantage Kahnawake has is that it goes with the Mohawk server farm, and that sits on a major internet backbone in North America (as in the continent). At least that is how I understand it just from stuff on the 'net rather than any intimate knowledge!

I understand the benefit for Antigua, but what is Kahnawake getting out of the deal?

Looks like Antigua comes up as the big winner here indeed !

OK, that's another conspiracy theory crushed.

No idea who benefits in that case. Neither do I care much. Both are jokes, though with the caveat of Kahnawake's proaction on the Casino Rewards case a few months ago. I should ease up a bit on them.

Antigua, I still don't know how they made the white list. Rank astonishing. No way should they have any foothold in the UK system.

Yeah, why would a former British colony ever get favours from the British?!

Kahnawake will never get white list status in the UK, no matter what they do as that could be considered tacit admission that they are a separate and independent nation. Not going to happen.

A tad surprised Caruso are you an advocate? Off topic and my last public statement why not check out the connection between Kahnawake and the Virtual Group. Apparently there are eight Canadians working out of Costa Rica.

I leave it there my friend.

Greek, you are very welcome to call me on anything and everything I say which you think may be in any way representative of a questionable stance.

I'm only saying that Kahnawake made a good decision in the Casino Rewards case, so I must, in fairness, acknowledge that. To the best of my knowledge, A & B have never even responded to an email let alone helped with a player issue.

I am not advocating Kahnawake. At least, not until they show a consistent move into proper regulation and not casino whitewash bullshit.

My previous contributions to the Kahnawake Hall Of Fame:

Seeing that Kahnawake is showing some good moves into proper regulations, I am thinking now if Kahnawake must have a better hold on the white list than A&G, just an insight, though it is unlikely that UK will grant the white-listed status on Kahnawake.
