The £10,000,000 Colossus is hiring!

Colossus Bets Ltd are recruiting for a technology manager.

This role has a significant hands-on element, but you will also be providing crucial technical input to for the future direction of the Colossus Bets systems. From day to day your job will consist of these activities:

  • Manage the technical integration of our B2B partners to our core systems, from start to finish.
  • Assume ownership of and manage the core Colossus Bets systems.
  • Provide technical support and advice to our marketing and operational teams.
  • Help define the strategic direction of the Colossus Bets technology.
  • Work closely with our technology suppliers, ensuring updates are specified, agreed and delivered in a timely fashion.

For this role it is essential that you are highly motivated, will take the initiative and most importantly assume responsibility for getting things done. Our philosophy is that no project should be waiting for us to complete a task, and that if there is a way we can expedite an issue, then we will do so.

For this role, a knowledge of the gambling industry is highly advantageous. You are expected to be able to comment on technological change in the industry, be aware of the core wagering products we use (especially pari-mutuel wagering), and understand the key players in the UK gaming sector.

Additionally, because the role involves direct control over our systems, you are expected to have a strong systems administration background, preferably involving most or all of this skill set:

  • Management and configuration of Cisco ASA firewalls
  • Linux systems administration - configuring and managing Linux systems, subsidiary applications (e.g. BIND, DHCP, FTP, Postfix), disaster recovery
  • Experience of configuring and managing virtualisation of servers, including VMWare and Xen
  • Shell scripting, including knowledge of Ruby
  • Experience deploying and supporting Ruby on Rails projects
  • Experience managing and configuring MySQL database
