Red face Do you have any tips on how to use Reddit without getting banned?

I’d appreciate your advice on how to manage a gambling-related Reddit account without getting it banned.

I got banned for not moderating. So, I'd say make sure you manage it effectively.

I actively use Reddit, and what I can say is that it’s important to grow your account carefully. Don’t start posting "helpful" posts right from the first minute, and definitely avoid dropping links right away. Ideally, share a link only in response to a request from another (real) user - basically, treat it the same way you would in real life.
What else can I say? Choose a few accounts and check their profiles - see what they post, how often, and so on.
Oh, and by the way, many of them often send direct messages and share links during conversations.
If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask them here or send me a direct message.

Did you track what exactly got you banned? Were you posting a lot of links? How quickly did you get banned? Thanks.

Well I went into it semi-blind. Knew that posting with links as a new user on various threads was likely to be frowned upon, but figured that as the sub Reddit owner that wouldn't apply. Probably made half a dozen posts, got a couple of comments, can't remember but likely added links (alongside useful, relevant content) in maybe 3 or 4 of them.

But I didn't get banned for spamming links, the sub reddit got banned for not being moderated (the fact it wasn't big enough to need moderating was apparently ignored). I didn't push it, there seemed no way to appeal at the time. It was a few years ago now, so maybe that has changed.

Funny I got banned for the same reason. There was nothing to moderate, so I didn't moderate, but I was banned for NOT moderating.
