2 Column Tiled Google Mobile Search Results

Anyone seeing 2 columns of image tiles appear after the top 3 Google mobile search results? Supposedly, they're running experiments on random users.

The results look something like the image in this Google Support forum thread: https://support.google.com/websearch...-results?hl=en

I seriously hope this doesn't become the new normal. The results look something like:

1. Extreme Hypocrisy - Create good content and usable UX on YOUR site, while we display a cluttered mess on ours.

2. TikTok gone wrong?

3. How to keep a teenager busy for hours looking for a chicken soup recipe?

4. The Pinterest page of a drug addict.

Solutions:

1. Use an incognito window (worked for me).

2. Sign out of your Google Account, or use a different account.

3. Some suggest turning on "Verbatim" results from tools and settings. I couldn't find this setting, perhaps it's on certain browsers/platforms only.

I don't think I care for the format either, and have not seen such yet.

Looks to me like yet another new way to hide paid results in the bunch that are not shown as such.

Also no surprise they hide the settings that disable this crap, if users dislike the change, and many use a setting to disable it, they will clearly hide the setting. And the setting is likely only available from a mobile, since they think no one ever heard of what a computer is. (and might only be seen on a pixel? ) hope the last one is not reality but you never know

I haven't seen those changes yet. However, I hope it's just an experiment and doesn't become the default way of displaying results because, as you said, it's a mess.

I prefer to use another search engine than waste time in that mess.

AdBlockPlus on Chrome deletes some of the sponsored google search results.
So I don't see everything - and have not noticed any changes yet.
